An Uncertain But Certain Meeting
It was barely dawn when Nova woke in a cold sweat beneath yesterday's paper.A strangely familiar voice echoes against the walls and instantly she believed she was dead, but then came to the rational conclusion that she was in fact alive, otherwise she wouldn't still look like crap.
"Any particular reason you've decided to shack up with a brick wall miss?"
The musty-brunette woman sat up and stretched against the wall. She blinked up at the pale man with ebony hair and tried hopelessly to chuck the newspaper away and shakily swat the snow off of her already paper white skin . He returned her stare with a sly, cool expression, which pissed her off.
"Perhaps because I do what I want?" She answered irritably. No one could ever sneak up on her and the fact that he'd done it not just this time but multiple times burned her insides. She knew who he was. It was impossible not to. They were best friends since their time on Asgard. Plus, she'd actually worked for him underground when he was in the midst of trying to rule the planet, when he'd persuaded her to venture with him to Midgard after he'd been given the infernal glowing stick of destiny. She'd told him countless times to stop and think of what he was doing. He was the fucking god of mischief, or the devil himself rising from the underworld if you asked her. She stood to her full height, which was 5'9, and to which of course did not match Loki's towering height, but it helped.
"Still as stubborn as ever." Loki verbally applauded, "At least someone has fight left in them at this point."
Nova nodded skeptically and traced her finger down the sides of his shoulder. "Well if it isn't the trickster himself back from god knows where. I'm certain another soul has fight left in them. Whether or not they have a soul, is their decision."
Loki narrowed his eyes and callously brushed her cold finger off. "And how pray tell are you to be certain, Nova? You're nothing on Midgard."
"Nothing is as it seems Loki." She reminded him cooly and drifted past him and down the dark sidewalk.
The god's footsteps grew farther away from her and echoed along the icy pavement.
This is probably my wierdest one I've written so far. Going out on a limb with the OC shipping. Eh, why not? Let me know how it is so far.
