Intro.
College! New experiences, new friends, but best of all NCAA Basketball! My sister Tamera and I have dreamt of this experience for the past 18 years of our life. Here we are, now 18, at the University of Connecticut for training and tryouts. Both of us are here on full scholarships, academic-athletic.
Through all this time we many more things are happening. Our relationships with our boyfriends (Tia - Rondeaco [Ronde] and Tamera - Deon) and they seem to inching closer to something more! This year couldn't get any better, but I am sure it will.
Chap. 1
Tonight is definitely the night! Deon asked Tamera to the finest restaurant in town and Ronde asked me! I am so EXCITED!!!!!!!! Both of us are going to the mall to find the perfect outfit and even though we are trying to be different it will probably end up being the same outfit as it always is!
On the way to the mall, Tamera wanted to stop at Payless to find shoes and I told her she would probably be better off going to a store in the mall to find NICE shoes. When we finally arrived we both headed for a store that sells the absolutely cutest outfits we had ever seen! There was one dress that really stood out to me: a lavender dress with spaghetti straps and a nice cover shawl to match. Tamera was eyeing one that was exactly the same except in gold. Both of us were going to go in our favorite colors: purple and gold!
In the back of the store, they had earrings and necklaces that matched almost every outfit in the store. I decided to get a lavender cross necklace and Tamera picked out a gold cross necklace. The last thing left was the shoes.
There were rows and rows of shoes at the front of the store and we both ended up choosing black heels that had cross straps in the front. As the cashier was ringing up the items, she looked at us figuring we had something special coming up real soon. We both knew she was absolutely right!
After we purchased the clothing and accessories, we headed to the food court! Both of us bought a slice of pizza and sat down to talk about tonight.
"Tamera, what did Deon say?" I asked.
"He said, 'Tamera, would like to join me for a nice dinner at the best restaurant in town? And of course I said yes!!!!!!!!! What did Ronde ask you?"
"He said the same thing. Maybe they had it all planned out, especially since they are college roomies now!"
"Yea! I bet they did and I don't really care if it was my man's idea or Ronde's. I am just glad it happened!"
After these comments we headed to the car and then we headed back to our dorm to get ready. We only had about 2 hours left until 7:00.
Both of us got ready and looked at each other (as a mirror). I was so excited to see Ronde again! He is so cool and I feel something special coming on tonight!
"Tamera, what are you going to say when he asks you?" I inquired.
"Tia, Tia, Tia! Of course I am going to say, 'Jordan, I love you and you love me! We are perfect for each other and I say yes I will marry you!"
