Jack slipped into the classroom where Sue stood addressing a group of students. "Sorry I'm late."

"Everyone, meet Special Agent Jack Hudson from the FBI."

"Ah, hi." He wasn't prepared for the sudden attention, giggling and furtive looks in his direction as he moved to the front of the classroom. Apparently hearing and deaf teenage girls were exactly the same. "I, uh, understand you've got some questions about working at the FBI?"

"What do you do?"

"Can you shoot a gun?"

"What's the pay like?"

"Can anyone apply?"

They answered the questions in turn, Sue helping out as needed when his signs failed him. Pausing during a lull of questioning, he wasn't prepared for when the conversation suddenly took a personal turn.

"You two are married right? How did you meet?"

Sue laughed as she turned to her equally amused husband as he shook his head wryly and picked up his hands to respond. "She stormed into my office and demanded a new job."

"You used to work together?!"

The classroom erupted in a flurry of excited signing once again. One girl in particular gave him a blatant once over as she made her signs clear to the girls seated next to her.

Jack eyes his wife warily. "What did she say?"

"She thinks you're handsome and she wants to know if all FBI agents are as fit as you."

Jack blushed and was at a loss for signs. "Umm..."

He was saved from responding when the teacher stepped forward. "Time's up I'm afraid. Let's thank our guests for giving up their time to come and speak with you all."

Jack was more than happy to nod and smile at the sea of waving hands and swiftly escape from the classroom. Walking down the corridor, he turned to his wife with a stricken look. "Give me a suspect and an interrogation room over teenage girls any day!"

Sue took pity on him and laughed at his expression as she wrapped her arm around his. "Thank you for doing this."

"You're welcome." Automatically leaning down for a kiss, he paused as he was suddenly surrounded by students exiting classrooms for their lunch break, more than one head turned in their direction. "Ah..."

Sue laughed. "Let's get you out of here."

Finito.
