Her heart broke as her life came crashing round at her feet. They had come in the night, and taken her rots away from her. She stood in front of the mess that had been her home, an aching hole in her chest blocking her throat, not letting any sound escape her. A solitary tear slid down her pale cheek, falling gently onto the grey ash that lay all around her. Looking around more and more tears glazed over her eyes, as she saw the limp lifeless bodies of her mother, her father, and her 2 year old brother, half buried under the rubble, her mother's curly bob matted to her head with blood and dust, the once pure white fur of her brother's toy rabbit stained grey. Helpless lives, cruelly stolen away by heartless beasts were too much to handle, especially when it was her family. I was then, at that moment that the one witch who always held her composure broke down in font of everyone.
Harry, Ron, most of the order stood in a line behind her, sorrow apparent in their eyes. A single figure stood a little away, hands buried in his pockets and his head bowed. He looked up when a heart wrenching scream pierced the silent air around them. Realising no-one was going to comfort her, her made his way over to Hermione, crouching down beside her he gently rubbed her back, letting her know she wasn't alone. Hermione immediately wrapped her shaking arms around him sobbed quietly into his shirt. Holding her tighter rocking slightly and murmuring soothing words into her ear, Draco Malfoy comforted Hermione granger in her greatest time of need yet.
