"Shinichi, are you busy? Can we see each other today?"

"Sorry Ran but I can't . I'm too busy with work."

This conversation continues for so many years. They rarely see each other maybe once every month or every two months.

"Shinichi, i'll keep texting you to come see me until you're tired of it ok? I won't ever stop until you make time for me."

"Ran, sorry. You know I cannot leave my work behind."

Every day Ran would keep on texting and calling Shinichi to tell him to meet her and date her. Until one day, Ran was alone at home. She was in her bedroom and was about to sleep when she heard a noise. She immediately text Shinichi.

"Shinichi, please come here. I think someone's here and it's not my dad. I'm alone tonight."

She called him but he never answered.

"Please come. Please answer my call."

"I love you so much Shinichi. I'm sorry for being demanding all the time."

She called again for so many times but Shinichi's phone is only ringing. Ran is getting ready to fight for her life. Her door was opened and she was ready to fight when the man fired his gun 3x.

Shinichi is in an emergency meeting with the police force. He's phone is in silent mode. He can only feel his phone vibrating. He checked out who is calling and it was Ran. He ignored the call thinking that she would only want to say goodnight or tell him she wants to see him.

After 30 minutes, he checked out his phone and found 10 missed calls and 4 messages.

He read the messages and was surprised at what he saw. He immediately ran to Ran's house. The door was not locked.. he thought. He immediately opened the door and found that everything is dark.

"Ran? Where are you? Are you here?" He searched for the light switch and saw that every thing is in chaos.

"RAAAN!" He went straight to her room, switched on the lights. His eyes widened. He can't believe what he is seeing.

The body of the girl she loves lie on the floor covered with blood, eyes closed, hair dishevelled.

"Raaan..." He walked slowly to her. His worst fear has come to life. He knelt next to her and carried her body and hugged her. He checked on her pulse. He felt a very very weak pulse. He immediately called the ambulance.

"Ran.. please come back to me. I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

"Shinichi..." she slowly opened her eyes "You came.." she smiled. She reaches for Shinichi's face. Shinichi holds her hand on his face.

"Yes,I'm here. Please stop smiling like that you're scaring me.. I'm sorry I was not able to protect you." Tears forming from his eyes.

"I love you, Shinichi. Sayonara."

Her hand fell down from his face. Shinichi stared on her face as tears started to fall. He cried and screamed. "RAAAAAAAN!"

The ambulance came along with Kogoro, her dad. They saw the situation and was devastated with what they saw since they knew well Ran and Shinichi.

"I'm so sorry Ran. I'm sorry."

Rain starts to fall. It was a night Shinichi never thought would happen.
