Missing scene before Addison and Arizona talk with Sloan about her baby's surgery, and after Callie follows Mark and Addison to the consult.
This has been swirling around in my head for a few weeks now, but I finally have some time on my hands to put it to paper. Please let me know what you think?
"Sooo…" Addison hooks her arm through Callie's, once Mark is a few feet in front of them and out of hearing distance. "Last time I was here you mentioned kissing a Peds surgeon… what happened with that?"
"Shouldn't you be focused on the very risky surgery you're about to be conducting on our best friend's daughter's son?"
"And I will focus on that surgery, once I've seen the ultrasound myself and spoken to said friend's daughter." Addison notices Mark going into a room and stops, moving so she's in front of Callie with her back to the door. "But first, you're going to tell me what went on with you and the Peds surgeon, and what's going on with this new woman in your life that you never go into detail with when we talk."
"Which do you want first?"
"Peds surgeon you kissed." Addison stands firm in front of the brunette, not paying much attention to the petite blonde that has come up from their side.
"You kissed?" The pair whips around to face said blonde. "I'm fairly certain I was the one that kissed you, though there was some definite reciprocation, so I guess that you could get away with saying you kissed me." Arizona turns her playful gaze from her girlfriend to the neonatal surgeon she remembers from the previous spring.
"Hi, Arizona Robbins; Mark asked me to join you on this consult in case Sloan decides against the surgery."
"Didn't we meet last spring?"
"Briefly, yes." Arizona looks back to Callie, who is standing with her face in her hand, ruminating over her luck that her best friend and girlfriend seem to be getting along so well, even though her best friend doesn't realize that her girlfriend and the Peds surgeon mentioned last spring are one and the same.
"Okay, let's get this over with." Callie stands tall, and takes a deep breath before continuing with the introductions. "Addison, this is Arizona Robbins; Arizona, Addison Montgomery. Girlfriend, meet best friend; best friend, girlfriend, and yes, she's the Peds surgeon I mentioned in the chapel that day."
"Very nice to meet you." Addison pulls Arizona in for a hug that the blonde warmly returns. The pair is separated by a series of sharp knocks on the window behind them. They turn to see Mark pointing to his watch and waving them into the room.
"Just so you know, I fully intend to give you the 'break her heart and I'll break your neck' best friend speech." Addison stated as she turned to the door.
"I wouldn't expect anything less from Calliope's best friend."
"And afterwards, you can explain to me how you managed to get her to allow you to call her by her full name."
Callie stares after the pair in horror. She hoped they'd get along, expected it even. The two women might have the same specialty, but they've got totally different personalities, though they do share a common thread in the woman in their lives. She was afraid to see what would happen when the two of them got together, away from the hospital, patients, and Mark Sloan.
"I'm doomed."
