Edward and Bella at the Bookstore
"Bella, love, you know that I love you," Edward looked at me with a pathetic look on his face, "but can't you have better taste in what you read?" He walked over to me and took the book from my hand and read the cover, " 'How to eat fried worms'!? I mean come on, Bella, who comes up with this stuff?"
"I-oh I don't know I just picked it up! I mean I'm sorry I can't be perfect like you!" I looked up at his perfect face to see if what I had said offended him, but all I found was my favorite crooked smile slightly across his face, like he had just won American Idol or something, "What?" I demanded.
"Oh, nothing," still with a smile, "I was just thinking about how perfect you say I am." I glowered at him for a second, than I couldn't help but smiling and I burst into laughter. "What did I say?" he acted surprised.
"Every time I see you I see what I'm not!" I started but than looked at is expression to see if I should continue. He had a smile on his face but he stiffened as I continued, "I love how you make me feel special! Just being here with you, knowing that I couldn't ask for anything else but you; just makes me laugh at how much I love you!" I threw my arms around his hard, rock, cold chest, and he put one hand in my hair and the other around my waist.
He got closer, I could smell his sweet breath on my face as he whispered, "I'll love you always and forever Bella Swan, nothing and no one will ever change that!" I caught a glimpse of his face and it was completely unreadable, but I could tell he wasn't joking around; he was serious about what he said. "Always and forever you and me that's the way life should be." he repeated in my ear. He let go, his eyes worried and searched my face. At that moment I realized I wasn't breathing, so I took a huge gasp of air and his worried looked turned into a slight smile.
"Okay, so what book would you like me to read?" I asked in a sarcastic voice and smiled. He took a book off the shelf behind him without letting go of my gaze and put it in my hand. I looked down at the cover it read Island of the Blue Dolphins. "This looks interesting enough." I sighed. We walked to the counter and I reached for my old purse, that I finally decided to wear, to get my wallet, but his hand caught mine. He reached on the inside of his jacket and got out his black leather wallet and paid for it; not letting go of my hand.
"Well on the bright side I got a new book and won't have to read the one at the house now." I said as he opened the passenger side of the door and lifted me into it. "So where are we going now?" I said when we were on the road. He didn't look at me he just kept his eyes on the road and reached almost 100. "Edward, I think you're going a little over the speed limit." I smiled at the joke that I thought was funny, but apparently he didn't for he still kept emotionless, unreadable eyes still fastened to the road.
"Alice needs to talk to us" He said not taking his eyes off the road.
"Is it urgent?" I asked.
"Yes."
"What has happened, Edward?"
"The Volturi"
I gasped.
