This is kind of halfway in Teach me Tonight. So, its like Jess never left.

Chapter 1

(Right after Jess tells Luke he made sure Rory was ok)

the next day

Rory walked down the street to Luke's. Opening the door, she hoped Jess was there.

"Coffee?" Luke asked, smiling. Rory knew everybody was going to get all wishy-washy after what happened. If Ms. Patty knew, everybody knew.

"Yeah, thanks Luke," Rory replied as she approached the counter. "Is Jess here, I kind of wanted to talk to him."

"Yea, he's upstairs. After what happened yesterday night, I decided to let him sleep in. If he's not awake, wake him." Luke replied, smiling softly.

Rory pulled back the curtain and slowly walked up the stairs, wondering what to say to Jess. After yesterday night, she realized how much she loved Jess. Not like some high school "I love you" type of thing. She really loved Jess. She slowly opened the door, hoping for the best.

She walked through the room, looking around. Signs of Jess were everywhere; his books, music, food. She peeked into the bedroom, and sighed. Jess was still asleep, a book curled under his hand. Rory gently lowered herself onto his makeshift bed. Not wanting to disturb him. Too bad, she thought as Jess stirred.

"Rory?" Jess opened his eyes, confused. Was he seeing things? OR was Rory Gilmore sitting on the edge of his bed?

Rory jumped hearing her name.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you. You can go back to sleep if you want." She said hastily, feeling bad. Why did I have to wake him? She wondered.

"No, its ok. I'm awake now." Jess glanced as his watch, his brow scrunched up. "Whoa, why didn't Luke wake me?"

"oh, he said he wanted to let you sleep in after what happened yesterday night. I'll just leave," Rory said, turning to leave.

Jess grabbed her wrist (the one that wasn't fractured), and slowly pulled her back. He gently pushed her back down on the bed as he stood up to put on his jacket. HE sat down on a chair that he pulled up from the kitchen table before talking.

"Why did you come? I thought you'd probably hate me by now. Its not like everybody else doesn't." Jess said.

"I don't hate you. I came to see how you were, see if you still wanted to date me." Rory noticed Jess's eyes widening ever so slightly when she said the last thing.

"why would you still want to date me? I almost killed you yesterday. I love you. Of course I still want to date you. The question is do you still want to date me?"
