Disclaimer: I don't own Soul Eater or its second opening. Atsushi Ohkubo owns Soul Eater, and tommyheavenly6 owns the second op.

Maka slowly walked down the streets of Death City. It was evening. Maka kept walking, feeling helpless. She wasn't strong enough. Not as strong as Soul. It's her fault Soul has that stupid scar now. Walking on and on, all she could see now was her own shadow in alleyways. Stopping, Maka turned, and started to walk down a long, dark alleyway. Her breathing was heavy. It was almost midnight. Maka waited. Suddenly, she saw a shadow. It was Crona's shadow. Frightened, she fell backwards. More shadows flew around the alleyway. Maka ran, although she knew they'd follow her no matter which world she run to. Then, in the mix of shadows, Soul's shadow. Everything felt like a dream, or rather a nightmare. But Soul's shadow was always present.

"MAKA!" someone had yelled. Maka turned. Soul really was there, not just his shadow. Soul started to run. Slowly, she started to escape the shadows. Was Soul the cause? Whatever it was, this feeling that was starting to save her was hers, and hers alone. As Soul inched closer, the stars disappeared and all that was left was not the moon, but a black paper one. Yet Soul was still very distant from Maka. So far away she thought he'd never reach her. But she believed in him. Maka truly believed he'd save her from this nightmare. She was lost, but there was Soul. Forever. Now, looking straight at him, Maka viewed Soul as the only light left, until he finally did reach her, and hugged her. Looking up, Maka's vision cleared. The stars returned, and the moon was up there, shining. It reminded her of Soul, because when he saved her he shined just like that big, bright moon.

Author's note: Very first fanfic! And very first SoMa fanfic. AND very first one-shot. Just a songfic of the second opening of Soul Eater. Takes place after Soul recovers from his scar (you know, when Maka feels really guilty and stuff). I hope people enjoy it (if anyone reads it).
