She breathed in the fresh scent of the forest, panting in her mountain lion form. Annie wasn't aware of much, only the surging want to run, run through the forest, to run after her pray, to run and breathe and feel.
And so she did. She ran, body sprinting fast as she had ever been, senses much more acute, feelings much simpler and basic. Her abdomen curved around and she circled the pond and stretched as she jumped down the rocks.
Not long after she smelt Rafe and ran even faster towards the strong, familiar scent. He stood at the entrance to the forest, a strange smile Annie couldn't place as sad.
