I ship us.
Titan fundraisers were very common in Jump City. Everyone loved to see their local Heroes throw an event for the community. Sometimes it was a dance, or a carnival, they even did a haunted house once. But no matter what they did it always brought in a huge crowd.
Currently Robin stood on stage in front of the crowd, making another one of his big annual speeches. The Boy Wonder was always good at those types of things. And along with the crowd three of the Titans were listening. Who was the odd man out you ask?… who do you think.
Beast Boy was bored out of his mind, as he usually was at these types of events. The event itself was a blast, but Robin's speeches were not. He was growing very inpatient waiting for the speech to end, until he found a way to entertain himself.
Raven found these events to be, in one word… interesting. She stood near the stage, in a discrete area, as she always did and watched the speech with interest. Until she felt a pair of hands wrap around her waist. "What are you doing?" She asked the person behind her.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" He said playfully into her ear.
"Gar, I'm serious." She said shoving him away. "We are at a very publicized event." She scolded.
"Yeah so?"
She let out a long sigh before grabbing his hand and pulling him back stage. "You can't touch me like that in public." She scolded once they were alone.
"You let me touch you like that at home." He defended.
"Yeah, but at home it's us and the others. Not a publicized event."
"And why can't I touch you in public, or a publicized event?" He asked softly as he walked up to her, grabbing her hips with his hands.
"Because I am a very private person, and I prefer to keep my private life private." She told him as he kissed her neck.
"But the Titans know." He objected, his face buried into her hair.
"The Titans are our friends." She defended.
"Oh come on Rae, I just want to kiss you in public." He said before kissing her mouth.
"The thing about kissing in public is that the public can see us." She told him.
"Yeah, so? Robin and Star kiss all the time in public, hell they even go out on dates."
"But we're not Robin and Star." She defended.
"What does that mean?" He asked, pulling away.
"Everyone knew that Robin and Starfire liked one another, before they even did. So when they finally got together the public was overjoyed, with everyone shipping RobStar."
"Where are you going with this Rae?"
"No one ships us Gar."
"So? Who cares?" He asked, leaning in and kissing her again.
"I just don't know how the public will react if we come out. What if they respond negatively?" She said sorrowfully.
"Ah babe, come on… I ship us, and that's all that matters. He said with a smile as he wrapped his arms around her in an embrace and kissed the side of her face.
On instinct she couldn't help but lean into his hold and smile. "Don't call me Babe."
