Two little lines could change his life. He knew that, really he did, but it felt strange, like an out-of-body experience, like cheating on Kurt had felt; wrong, out of place.
The timer told him he had a little over two minutes left, but it felt like time was surely speeding up.
Getting back together with Kurt had made him feel like he was walking on air.
Finally, he'd been completely absolved of his sin.
2 minutes left.
He wanted to know, or maybe he didn't, he couldn't tell. But he figured there was no turning back now, that the numbers were already ticking away, and all he could do was stand there and wait for his fate to be decided for him.
1 minute left.
He took a breath, let it out slowly.
He didn't regret it, or, not yet anyways. How could he?
He had become withdrawn in the last week, skirting around the questions that felt odd to even to be asked, let alone answered.
Kurt knew something was up, Blaine was sure of it, but he couldn't bring himself to say anything about it, even to the love of his life.
30 seconds left.
He hadn't seen any of the New Directions since graduation. He had been whisked off to New York by Kurt and in the last month, and they had settled into their own little apartment.
20 seconds left.
They were engaged, so it wouldn't be that bad if he was, would it?
He shakes his head, paces away the last few seconds.
But then he waits, hand shaking, hovering over the plastic stick that could change everything.
"Blaine?" Kurt calls and Blaine jumps slightly.
"I'll be there in a sec," he replies, hoping his voice isn't shaking as badly as his hand is.
He closes his eyes. How bad could it be, really?
He bites his lower lip. It's now or never.
And then he does it, hardly daring to breathe.
Two pink lines confirm his suspicions.
And, that night, he doesn't say a word.
Review! I'd love to know what you guys think!
