Dentic POV

Strange sounds. I do not know what they mean. I have no translator microbes. I wish I did. Then I could understand. I could listen and know what I am hearing. I am being held. Shoved into a mouth. I know what I have to do. That doesn't mean I like it. And the person whose mouth I am cleaning does not like it either. Me being in its mouth that is. Suddenly I am spat out. I am on the floor in a corner. A DRD finds me. I know it is a DRD because that is what it tells me. It does not speak. It just tells me. I can not explain it. It is a worker like me. We have no choice. It picked me up off the floor. I was put inside it. I would be emptied out later it 'said'. I do not mind it here, inside the DRD. I know they contain translator microbes. If I could only find them.

2 minutes later

I found them! How do I inject them into myself? I have an idea. I spill the container that the microbes are in. I bite myself. I roll over the microbes. I hope it works.

Pilot POV

Dentics? You wish to know what I think of Dentics? That is a most peculiar request. However, I shall comply.

I do not like Dentics. I sympathise with the Human Crichton. Ka D'Argo should not have forced the 'maggot' into Crichton's mouth. Luckily for me I do not require Dentics. Commander Crichton has explained how Humans 'brush their teeth'. I think it is much better than using Dentics. I would never allow a Dentic inside my mouth.

A DRD has found a Dentic on the floor. It is the one that Crichton spat out when Ka D'Argo left him. But I do not understand what 'Min-tee' is. I will ask Crichton later. I give a command to the DRD. Remove the Dentic It does. I do a quick scan on it, to make sure it was not damaged in its fall. I make a strange discovery. This Dentic has translator microbes! t broke in to my supplyThe DRD tells me when I question it. This happens sometimes. A Dentic wants to know more. They are not content. It happened with some DRDs once. Fortunately it happens very rarely. There is nothing I can do to fix it. Perhaps Ka D'Argo would like it as a pet.
