Here is a little drabble that the lovely Kouw asked for on Sunday. Thought I might as well post it for everyone to read! Excuse my mistakes, for I am human and this was written on my phone.

Elsie rocked the baby, wondering for the millionth time how she had ever gotten so lucky. She had a husband, whom loved her and worked hard. She had Gracie, her lovely six year old, and little Charlie, her three year old. And now she had this new babe.

Elizabeth Lorna Carson was a week old and Elsie already knew that this one was going to be her quiet baby. Grace was already full of herself and quite the little princess. Charlie was full of himself, boisterous, and followed his da like a shadow when her Charles was home.

She loved her family, loved when the house was full, bustling, and noisy.

But these quiet moments, where she had all three children in the bed with her, her older two sleeping, and the baby staring at her curiously while suckling at her breast, were the moments she lived for. These were her favorite moments. Everything was quiet and she could watch her children and be happy and relish the fact that she had gone another way.

She and Charles had fallen in love, he had been bold, asked her to walk out with him, and a year later he had put a ring on her finger before God and everyone, after buying himself a store, that was now flourishing.

Elsie smiled as she heard the door open downstairs, he had gone to get some applesauce bread for breakfast. A treat for Saturday breakfast like always. She smiled as she heard him making the tray to bring up so he could cuddle into bed with them and they could eat breakfast together.

She smiles at him as he enters the room and they exchange a look full of love and devotion. He settled the tray across her legs and then shifted Charlie who let out a whine before rubbing his eyes and glaring at his da for waking him, but perked up at the sight of the tray and the goodies he knew it held. Gracie stirred and cuddled up to her mummy while she woke.

The family was together and Elsie was happy, so happy.

She awoke with a knock to the door, signaling her wake up call, and her husband to be on the other side of the wall was already stirring, shaving for the days events.

Today they would get married, and maybe, just maybe they could have the family. Because she was thirty, they were leaving service and they would live happily ever after for the rest of their lives.

She was going another way, with the man she loved.

Let me know what you think!

Much love,
Samantha=)
