I will update if I get one review so please do. (Gives you puppy eyes.)
Having regained consciousness after the crash, I quickly came to the realization that I was sinking. The beast's skin slowly sank as hydrogen leaked from the air bags, the horrible smell I had come to associate with death shocked my still recoiling lungs. After a much needed breath of fresh air the thought slowly creeped across my mind that Alek was still on the bridge and probably below the water line. As I ran i tried to sort out my thoughts, the airship had hit the water, Alek was on the bridge sorting out business with the captain and doctor barlow. Even though he had received a medal from the British Admiralty he was still technically a Prisoner of War. My mind raced back to the problem at hand as she spotted the luckily, only partially under water bridge. Some figures on the roof were crawling out of the emergency hatch. In particular one with rusty red hair and green eyes. "Alek!" I hear myself cry out. "Der- I mean Dylan!". The response relieves stress before fear re-enters my heart when a nearby rigger said "Deryn?" My mind raced but before I could answer I was cut off by a "Its just a nickname.", "It means bird." Relief flooded my insides when a loud cry sounded from the airbeast. "Oh dear" Doctor Barlow said, it seems as if it is drowning.
