Guess who's back?

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, school is a lot more intense lately and iI have NCEA's coming up soon.

This is a story I wrote 2 months ago for my tumblr but never uploaded here

Enjoy :)

She was barely hitting 5'2 and he was almost 6 feet, and it was pretty much perfect.

When they walked together, her shoulder would bump into his arm, and in the first few months they would sidestep a bit, and give a quick apology for being too close. But now it was a few years on and they found it uncomfortable if they weren't almost joined at the hip as they moved together, they still clashed limbs though, they still hadn't worked out how not to, but instead of glancing down like it never happened they looked to each other with the sides of their lips both tugging up.

She was at the perfect height bury her head in his chest. If she was upset he could pull her in, rub her back, and whisper words he knew would calm her. She could blink the tears into that warm spot by his neck, hold him tight and be reassured by the slight hint of the ocean that always masked the collar of his shirts. She could feel his chest expand as his breaths were in time with his hand moving in slow rhythms, hoping she would follow, a technique they had wordlessly mastered in seconds of her tiredly falling into him.

He was at the perfect height where he could rest his chin on her head as she almost collapsed into him with joy. That beautiful grin gracing her features as she sharply took in a breath to exhale a soft, gentle laugh, relieved, thanking every god there was they were both still alive. He could lift her up onto her toes so she could move her head to his shoulder where they were fitted together so nicely, and they shared those few seconds of being that close with each other, not just physically, before they both moved back.

But they also liked it when he leant over the island in the middle of Ops, and they were finally at eye level with each other, still with that closeness not given when sat beside each other at the terminals. She could see up close just how beautiful his eyes were, though almost a deep blue under the lights of ops, on a certain angle she caught the green, almost grey shade, to her the color was almost calming in a way, not too intense, one she could easily get caught up in.

She had a faint constellation of freckles across her cheeks and nose. Anytime he turned to her that was always where his eyes fell first, then briefly to her lips, and to her eyes before she noticed (or acted like she hadn't.) Most of the time her eyebrows would lift slightly, or knit together, but sometimes she teased a smile on her lips which reminded him why he was so in love his partner.

She was barely hitting 5'2 and he was almost 6 feet, and it was perfect.
