"Bella really did want to come along, but I had her stay home to make dinner." Charlie said trying to make conversation with his niece. He had picked her up half an hour ago, but an eerie silence had taken hold.

Sema looked at him from the corner of her Albino eyes. She mumbled, "You know you don't have to talk to me. I know I make you uncomfortable." Her gaze shifted back out the window.

Sema Moon had, up until recently, lived in Alaska all her life. Her parents worked for a large company in Anchorage. They met one night at a company party and fell in love. After a few years of dating, they were married and Sema came along shortly.

Less than a week ago, her parents were found dead in their home. They had been drained of blood. No leads could be found, but the police quickly cleared Sema of the crime so that she could travel to Forks, Washington. Her Uncle Charlie on her mother's side had offered to take her in as soon as he heard of the incident.

What no one had ever told him was how unique Sema Moon really was. Her various medical problems made her the target of many jokes. She was born an Albino. Her pale skin and red eyes frightened many people, so she didn't have many friends. It was just as well that way because she also had certain special abilities. Sema could sense other peoples thoughts and emotions. Physical touch just intensified the sensation, so it must be avoided at all costs.

Charlie sighed, "You don't make me uncomfortable. It's just the thought of two teenage girls living in my house. I thought Bella alone would be a handful. I just don't know how I will manage." He managed a weak smile before lapsing into silence.

Sema's mind began to wander to the weather, 'It's very rainy. Reminds me of home, but does it ever snow?' In no time at all, Charlie pulled in front of the house. She shuddered, 'Bella hasn't seen me since we were 3, I wonder how frightened she will be.' She grabbed her bag from the trunk and carried it in the house.

Charlie showed her to the room that she would share with Bella. The beds were pressed against opposite walls with a small table in between. Sema put the suitcase on the twin bed that had a fluffy, grey comforter on it. She was only allowed to bring a few items of clothing. Until the case was solved, her things had to stay in Alaska. A sigh escaped her lips as she unzipped the bag and started to put her things away.

After she finished unpacking, Sema headed to the kitchen to greet Bella. When she entered the kitchen, she saw Bella hard at work. Bella didn't seem to notice of her, so she lightly cleared her throat lightly. Startled, Bella turned around to face Sema. The surprised dropped from Bella's face and was immediately replaced by a welcoming smile. The funny thing was, Sema couldn't feel any resentment from her either.

"Hi Sema. It's been a while since I have seen you." Bella came towards her with her arms out stretched or a hug.

Sema nodded at her, but took a step away, "I hope you don't mind, but I really don't like hugs." She crossed her arms over her chest, and smiled apologetically.

Bella brushed of the denial and said, "That's alright. Anyways, Charlie signed all the school papers, and I turned them in on Wednesday, so you get to start school tomorrow. Won't this be fun?" Sema smiled brightly, no one had ever been so comfortable around her before. They were intimidated by her white hair and skin, but especially her red eyes. She rubbed her face worriedly, wondering if Charlie had spilled the beans of her many secrets.
