Garen Muln fiddled with the strings of his guitar. "Bum, bum, bum… there!" He said, satisfied, as he strummed a chord. He leaned into the warmth of the campfire. Nothing like a night under the stars, with your close friends beside you. "Yee…" he sighed, forgetting the rest of the phrase those cowboys from long ago used to say.
"Haw," Bant yawned, stretching her jaws in a yawn.
"Yeah, that's how it went!" Obi-Wan recollected. "Yee haw!"
Garen shook his head, "Too right, Kenobi."
"Say, tell us a tale," Bant told Obi-Wan. "Tell us a thriller."
Garen made a face. Not another one of Obi-Wan's drawling, predictable tall tales. "No, tell us a story about lost love or a humorous encounter or something."
"Lost love…" Kenobi murmured. "Never really had one. 'Course, there was…" he trailed off, eyes far away.
"Who was she?" Bant demanded.
So Obi-Wan began,
"Gather 'round, Younglings, and you shall hear
The stoic tale of Zora Antan.
She wasn't a beauty, but she was a flirt. A lot of guys liked her- the flirting has worked!
And a certain Padawan named Obi-Wan Kenobi was falling- slowly, gently, for her.
After so much attention and so many mistakes, his stance on his Jedi elder began to take shape! So many good times centered around laughs- all targeted at her and her broad-shouldered back.
The good times brought realization into view- a simple crush bloomed into, "I love you."
Loving Mace's woman was punishable by crime. He had to extinguish the love- there wasn't much time! But so much about her- just maybe her build, so much like Qui-Gon's, made giving it up impossible- all release was bygone!
How Obi-Wan toiled over unproductive days! Bant and Garen came screaming; telling of what they saw of Qui and Mace. Kenobi kindly corrected them, saying it was okay, but no one ever bothered to chase the rumors away.
Qui-Gon and Zora were forever connected, so taunts at Obi-Wan were frequently expected. He never said a word; didn't mind at once. He could never hurt Zora- he liked her too much.
So much drama as Zora and Mace fromped, so much angst as Obi-Wan stood by and watched. Qui-Gon observed his apprentice in disdain; claiming it all was a great shame.
Shame or not, soon enough, Zora left Mace with a heart turned tough. Mace never loved again, and Kenobi's infatuation faded away…
He was grateful to see the end of Mace's girlfriend days."
---
"Well?" Obi-Wan prompted. His friends all looked aghast. Had his story really blown them away?
No; it was just because everyone was a critic.
"What was with the third person?"
"That didn't rhyme."
"I'm telling Master Jinn."
But soft, what light from yonder light side breaks? Zora is the sun, and… they just don't get it! Obi-Wan cursed.
Really. Freaking. Weird.
Really. Please. Review.
