Because of Who We Are

When I close my eyes, I see you.
When I think about giving up, I think of you.
You light up my life, and without you, I am nothing.
In my dreams, we are together, and we are happy. This is because in my dreams, there is no barrier between what you are, and what you aren't. Everything and everyone lives together in peace and harmony.
When I wake up, you disappear.
I know it can't be real.
It is because of who we are, but more of what I am.
You are a human, and I am an animal.
And nothing can change that.
