Title : A Parallel Kiss.

Pairing : Lily/James

Rating : K

"You've heard me say it, how do I show you its true?"

His hazel eyes were boring into her emerald green ones. The air around them seemed to crackle with ferocious intensity. She shivered slightly under his gaze, her auburn waist-long hair blowing lightly in the breeze.

Lily had always disliked James. Hate was such a strong word, and she most often heard it used when describing her 'situation' with him. James was by far one of the best-looking people in Hogwarts, but it had much to do with the way he carried himself. Always full of pride and confidence. Lily had once admired that in him, but it was clear enough that, that package included an overly inflated head, an ego enough for a small army.

The animosity had built up and added upon with years, and now, standing pressed up to each other, faces inches away, was the said redhead and raven-haired boy. Exactly what had gotten them in such a precarious position had eluded Lily, but she vaguely remember it involving peanut-butter, Snape's shampoo, lemon-lime tarts and Sirius Black's dirty sock.

The Head Boy and Head Girl had been working together closely, getting to know and understand each other for the better part of the year. Lily Evans had miraculously broken down his mask; the one he displayed for the public's viewing pleasure. She had gotten to know the real James Potter, the amazing young man underneath. Nevertheless, did she love him too, could she return his proclamation?

James moved away, taking with him the warmth that he had provided against the cold morning air. That was all she needed to bring her back to her senses.

Shivering, she pressed her lips to his. The sudden unexpected force that was Lily's body, was welcomed by the boy, he wrapped his arms tightly around her, returning her kiss passionately.

James heard a faint whisper in his ear. Had she not been caressing his cheek and staring at him adoringly, he would have thought the wind was playing tricks on him. The sweet words of 'I love you too' played over in his head like a sweet melody he never wanted to stop.

Author Notes : Yes, I am aware this is a short one-shot. Short, simple and sweet, anyone? Also, now that you've read this, please do click the small review button. It's not that hard to do, and helps me (the author) work better.

Or... I will starve Lily and James, just because I am sadistic like that. (Lily and James wail in the background, clawing at their metal cages in hunger)
