Hello this is my first serious attempt at writing, so any criticism good or bad is welcome.
I do not own Harry Potter. Not writing for profit just fun.
The Truth about Squibs
In most pureblood homes if a squib is born they immediately get rid of it. That's right to most purebloods squibs stop being human; someone they could develop feelings and instead become and it. Sometimes a family will wait until the childs' 11th birthday thinking that they may be a late bloomer. If the childs' magic does develop that late he or she is accepted just thought of as weak. If he or she does not then they are sent away and stripped of the family name. As they are then seen as a stain on the family line, dirty and tainted.
Now while this is an accepted belief it is also a very wrong one. What those families do not know or have forgotten is that squibs play a very important role in the wizarding world. Their role is to keep magic strong. Ages ago people were worried that the small wizarding communities would become inbred. That the people would be so married into the same families so much that deformities would occur not only physically and mentally but magically as well.
To combat this, the most powerful of that time gathered together and with their lives in a feat not seen since they created a spell that would affect every witch and wizard since. The outcome of this spell was that every so often a child would be born that had its' magic locked away within it. But even though the child could not reach it does not mean that they could not pass it on to its own child.
Their purpose was to alert the family that they were starting to approach the inbreeding point. At that time anyone not married were to marry a non wizard or witch (exception being those too young). This was to occur for a least two generations allowing for new blood to refresh the line and magic. Then and only then should those lines marry back in to wizarding society again. By doing this every time a squib was born families were able to keep their magic flowing strong and the bloodlines kept clean.
Now there will be some who will not believe what I have written. There will even be some that publically call this lies, propaganda, trash and blasphemy. So to all of you who do I challenge you to look through your histories and at your tapestries. I challenge you to follow your roots and see for your selves if what I say is the truth or fiction.
