Cycle Duel.

"You've got to be kidding me."

As Zane walked into a direction lead by Atticus, he had tried, and failed to understand the logic in what he was saying.

"Oh, come on, it sounds like fun!" Atticus insisted.

"It sounds dangerous, and completely insane. What are you thinking?"

"Not my idea," was Atticus' reply, "Bastion's."

"It still makes no sense," Zane said flatly, "Duel Monsters and motorbikes do not mix."

"Well they should," Atticus replied cheerfully, " Imagine it Zane, the thrill of the game, with the wind blowing through your hair!"

Zane just sighed, knowing any argument to be futile. Shortly afterwards, they found themselves near a lake, which was, apart from the two of them, completely deserted.

Waiting for Bastion, Zane attempted to talk reason into Atticus, "Do you really think it necessary to duel like this."

"I think it'll keep the audience interested. You've got to make sure you're putting on a good show, or you won't have any fans."

"By doing something completely irrelevant?"

"As long as it's exciting."

"Do you really believe that?" Zane asked, "Or are you just bored?"

"Bit of both, really."

After Bastion arrived, Zane attempted to talk sense into Bastion, while Atticus examine a motorcycle that Bastion had brought and modified so a duel disk was now built in. Unfortunately for Zane, Bastion wasn't listening to sense either. Shortly, after, Bastion and Atticus were on the motorcycles, decks in duel disks (Zane noted that, at the very least, they had just enough sense to bring safety gear. Now if they could only gain the sense to stop…).

Zane turned around and noticed a first aid box next to the equipment Bastion.

"Do you want me to stand by in case of injury?" Zane shouted at Bastion.

Bastion thought, then replied, "That would probably be for the best, thanks."

"Hey," Zane responded, "Can't have my best friend and one of the top dueling physicists killing themselves, even if their ideas state they've both lost it.

" Now Zane," Atticus joked, grinning, "What could possibly go wrong?"

Zane mumbled under his breath, "Everything."

"Alright!" bastion called out, "Let the first ever cycle duel begin!"

"Cycle duel?" Zane said to himself as the other two raced off, "There's got to be a better name than that."

To Zane's great surprise, the duel started without any accidents. The first moves took place like a normal duel, at least, if normal duels consisted of swerving away from giant holograms. Atticus had taken an early lead, but Bastion had succeeded in fighting back, evening the stakes. The duel stood with the both at 500 life points, Bastion had a Plasma Warrior Etom on the field, Atticus had a Red Eyes Black Dragon on the field that was now flying behind him.

"And I end my turn with a facedown," Bastion concluded, "Your move."

Atticus drew a card, "Alright! I summon Red Eyes Darkness Dragon by sacrificing Red Eyes Black Dragon! Now attack!"

As Atticus did this however, he pointed towards Bastion, leaving neither hand driving the motorcycle.

"I activate the trap card, Magic Cy- Atticus! The bike!"

But it was too late, Atticus had lost control, driving himself straight into the lake. Bastion got off the motorcycle as Zane dived in to help him friend.

As Atticus got out, with Zane's help, he shouted, "That was fun, we must do that again!"

Zane groaned, "You never learn."

Bastion sighed, "I have a feeling the cycle duel may need just a little bit of fine tuning."
