Tonks paced the small living room of the flat she shared with her boyfriend, Remus. All the symptoms had added up, so she went to the healers and found out she was pregnant. This was beyond an accident. They weren't married or engaged. Luckily Remus was at work, but the luck didn't last very long. Remus walked through the door and smiled at his girlfriend, who has ghost white hair, that was normally pink, but not just any type of pink, bubblegum pink.
"Dora what's wrong?" Remus asked, taking off his cloak and hanging it up.
"Nothing, Remus. I'm fine." Tonks smiled and went to peck his cheek.
Remus smiled and kissed her nose, softly. "Your hair's white," he pointed out.
"Oh." Tonks smiled and screwed up her face and changed her hair back to bubblegum pink. She looked back at Remus and sighed. "There's something I need to tell you."
"What is it, Dora?" He raised an eyebrow.
"I-I'm pregnant," Tonks whispered, barely audible.
"Sorry? I didn't hear you."
"I'm pregnant."
Remus' eyes went wide. He found his mouth was too dry to say anything. He just nodded weakly and went to sit down. Tonks knew he didn't want children. He was too afraid the child would get his lycanthropy. She sighed and sat next to him.
"Remus, it's a baby, not Satan." She chuckled.
"But…lycanthropy…baby," were the only words Remus could muster to say.
Tonks sighed and ran her hand through his brownish, flecked with gray hair. "Don't worry about it. I'm sure this baby will be amazing."
"How did this happen…?" Remus asked more to himself than to Tonks.
"We had sex," Tonks said flatly. "It's too late now."
Remus stood up without saying a word and left the room. Tonks watched him until it was no longer possible. In the bedroom Remus was sitting on their bed with his head in his hands. How could he have been so stupid? Well, Remus thought, might as well do it now. He patted a small box in his pocket before making his way back to Tonks. She looked flustered. When Remus entered the room again, she smiled slightly. Remus swallowed and smiled back.
"Dora…" He got on one knee and pulled out the box. He opened the box and looked back at her. "Will you marry me?"
Tonks gasped. The ring was a silver band with a diamond in the middle; it wasn't a large, flashy diamond, but it was perfect.
"Y-" Tonks couldn't even speak. She nodded frantically.
Remus stood up and place the ring on her finger. "I love you, Dora."
Tonks still couldn't find words, so she just nodded. She had learned Remus wasn't one to be over-romantic, but he was romantic in his own special way.
"Now we're going to be parent." Remus sighed. "How is this possible? I'm always careful."
Tonks shrugged. "I guess just not careful enough. I've got to tell my mum and dad and everyone," she thought out loud.
Remus chuckled and kissed her cheek.
"Oh-no," Tonks said.
"What?"
"My parents hate you."
