A/n: Just something I came up with. It isn't meant to be any longer than this.

After forever at Stoneybrook Middle School, I was finally moving onto Stoneybrook High School. I'm Stacey McGill, fourteen years old and a freshman. I had graduated in June at SMS and spent the summer having fun. I spent a month in New York with my dad and my step-mom, Samantha. My best friend, Claudia Kishi spent two weeks visiting before she and her family went to Vermont. We got back at around the same time. We then spent the rest of the summer helping my mom open her new shop and get everything ready. The beginning of high school loomed over my head all summer. I had a few nightmares about people throwing tomatoes at me as I walked into the cafeteria or walking into class naked but I assured myself I'd be fine. That I'd have all of my friends with me. Since I moved to Stoneybrook during the seventh grade (I used to live in New York) and back again in the eighth, I had been apart of a baby sitting club called the Baby-Sitters Club which was started by Kristy Thomas. During the eighth grade a few members left and it returned to the original four, Kristy, Claudia, Mary-Anne Spier and me. We had a few problems with how much we could sit and how much we could meet, but we worked it out. We graduated and then that brought the summer. I thought that everything would be smooth sailing. Then Mary-Anne announced she was visiting her grandmother for two weeks at the end of June, I was then going to New York, Claudia was going to New York then Vermont and Mary-Anne had also mentioned a trip to California to see Dawn, her step-sister and ex-member of the BSC. Kristy didn't like this at all. One Monday meeting, a week before Mary-Anne was due to leave, Kristy blew up at us all and announced as she walked out, that the BSC was defunct. The three of us sat there, shocked. To be honest, I didn't think the BSC would make it past the first few months of high school. I didn't expect it to fall apart 9 days after middle school finished. I haven't heard from Kristy all summer. I became closer with Mary-Anne. I'm guessing Kristy didn't even bother to talk to her either. After Claud got back from Vermont and I got back from New York, Mary-Anne and us became a little trio. It felt good to start high school with no expectations of already commitments of baby sitting or meetings. I was free to try new things. I was thinking of joining the French club or a sports team. As I walked down the Bradford court sidewalk, seeing Mary-Anne and Claudia standing outside Claud's house, waiting for me, I felt a bit better. I had my friends to be there for me. High school wasn't going to be a worry.
