Asurei liked that particular café.

It was quiet, peaceful – the perfect place for the aspiring El Dorado recruit to relax and take a break from the stresses of university. The white walls were covered by windows, along which dozens of multi-coloured flowers grew. Moving footpaths spun outside, taking the passenger to their chosen destination. It was beautiful and serene; just how he liked it.

Of course, silence never lasted forever.

A group of high-school girls walked in through the automated doors – perhaps in their senior year? Asurei found it hard to keep track of time nowadays. Chatting away, the five girls giggled as they went to the counter and began to order. Rubbing his temples softly, the green-haired man leant back and looked back at his laptop. Quantum physics, special relativity – leaning forward and concentrating as best he could, he almost didn't notice the girls sitting in the booth behind him. Turning around and groaning, Asurei gulped down the rest of his water and took a few more bites of his cheesecake. He would just spend the next half-hour of his lunch break in a library, Asurei decided.

Well, that was how he planned it, at least.

Shutting his laptop closed and putting it back into his bag, the greenet tripped over the leg of the table and stumbled into the girl walking past it. Landing on his back, Asurei felt the distinct feeling of a very hot liquid leaking on to his chest.

"Auugh…" Asurei groaned again, rubbing his head. "Ow, ow, ow…"

"Are you okay?" A weight moved from his chest, and suddenly big, brown eyes were right in his face. "I'm so sorry! I should've noticed- Ah, now my coffee's spilt all over you…!"

"A-ah, no. It's fine." Asurei reassured her, moving to sit cross-legged. "It's my fault."

"No, it's not! Come with me! I'll get you a new one, okay?" she insisted, grabbing his wrist and walking towards the door.

"No, honestly. it's fine, miss...um…" Asurei stumbled, realising he didn't know her name.

Eyes widening, the girl turned around in surprise. "Oh, yeah! I'm Nanobana Kinako!" Grinning and placing a hand to her forehead, Kinako winked. "Hi! And you are?"

"Asurei. Asurei Rune." Rubbing the back of his head, Asurei sighed. "And you honestly don't need to get me a shirt, Miss Nanobana."

"Kinako. Call me Kinako." The brunette insisted, waving her hand. "And it's fine! You can't go to wherever you're going with a wet shirt, right?"

Looking down at his now stained black sweater, Asurei sighed again. "Well, if you don't mind…"

"It's fine!" Pulling him into the nearest clothes store, Nanobana pushed him into the clothes section. "Come out when you find something, okay!"

"Alright, alright." Feeling an uncontrollable grin come over his face, Asurei looked over the shirts in front of him.

What a character.

Wao, that was fun to write!

But for anyone that decided to read this and doesn't know the spoiler yet - Kinako is Fey's mother, and her husband is a man called Asurei Rune. It's a really sad love story...! So I decided to try writing a drabble about the first time they met. Because this ship is adorable and then it ends up tragic.

I hope you enjoyed it and that it wasn't too terrible, haha!
