"Are you sure that you want to stay with your cousin? You can come and live with me and Paul" Claire's mom, Lisa, said, while she drive through the town
"Don't talk about him like you don't even know him. And yes, yes I want to stay in here. I don't want to live with you and your new husband" She answered, trying not to throw up while saying the last two words.
"Claire" Lisa said again, while she glared at her
"Mom"
"It's not my fault that I fall in love with him"
"Neither mine"
"You don't understand it. He makes me feel happy, and-
"If you're going to start those talks to teach me about love, leave me in here"
"Claire"
"Leave me in here"
"No, there's still a bit to get to yours cousin-
"You know, he has a name, Scott, apparently you don't remember"
"Don't talk to me like that. I'm your mother, and you can't be disrespectful to me"
"Fine" Claire said while she rolled her eyes
They didn't speak at all, until they reached Scott's house. Claire was really excited, first, because he was like the big brother that she never had, and second, because they haven't seen each other for about 2 years.
"Do you want me to help with your luggage?" Lisa asked, after she parked the car
"No, I'm fine"
"Ok, just, don't get in trouble"
"I don't promise anything!" Claire said, while she lift her hands in the air
Lisa hugged her "I'm going to miss you"
She was about to turn on the car, but Claire stopped her "Wait! Don't you want to see Scott?"
"It's really late, and you know that your aunt Melissa and I-
"Yeah, I know. Well, bye"
"Bye"
While Claire watched how the car disappeared, she felt a chill running down her back and turned around abruptly. She almost fainted, when she saw like two big red eyes staring at her. After she blinked a couple times, they disappeared. Probably she was hallucinating for being 6 hours on a car.
Without giving it much importance, she knocked on the door many times, with a huge smile on her face. Seconds later, the door opened, and there was standing Aunt Melissa
"Oh my god! Sweetie! You look so beautiful! You have grown so much! Look at you! You're taller! Your hair is longer!" She literally screamed, while she hugged her REALLY tight.
"I've missed you too" Claire said while she laugh, and hugged her back. Melissa put her arm around her shoulders and started talking
"I didn't tell Scott, I was planning to surprise him, are you okay with that? He has been a bit strange these days, you know"
"Sure! Is he in his bedroom?"
"Yes, do you remember where it is?"
"Of course!"
Claire run to his room, and opened the door while she said "Hello!" Hoping to meet him, sitting on the bed, goofing around, but no, he wasn't in there. She close the door behind her, and realize that the window was opened. While she lay down on the bed, she put on her headphones, and then she close her eyes. Claire found herself starting to fall asleep, and dreaming about the red eyes.
