Open Your Eyes
Fandom: Fruit's Basket
Pairing: Kyo and Tohru
"Come on."
Kyo took Tohru's hand in his, leading her through the dense wood.
"Kyo? Where are you taking me?" Tohru questioned, slightly worried. It was dark and although the moon was full, it could still be dangerous.
He looked back at her and smiled. "It's a surprise. Trust me." He stopped for a moment and looked around. "Okay. Now close your eyes."
Tohru did as she was told and closed her eyes, trusting Kyo to lead her through the brush safely. After a moment, they stopped and Kyo let go of her hand.
"Open them," he whispered in her ear. "Happy Valentine's day."
Tohru opened her eyes slowly and let out a gasp of wonder. Before them was a small pond with cranes swimming on the surface. The moon cast its reflection on the surface, giving it an almost ethereal look.
Tohru whirled around and hugged him, momentarily forgetting what would happen. In an instant, there was a poof of smoke of smoke as Kyo turned into a cat.
"Aah! I'm sorry!" she cried out. "I forgot! I'm so sorry!"
He sighed. "It's alright. You didn't mean it…" He looked back up at her, his cheeks tinged a slightly deeper orange. "Do you like it?"
She knelt down in front of him and gave him a smile that made his little kitty heart melt. "It's beautiful." Gently, she kissed the top of his head. "Thank you, Kyo-kun."
