This so far is my proudest L4D2 story. Enjoy!
They had finally made it! At long last the bridge to freedom. All they had to do is get pass all the zombies and make it to the chopper. Simple enough.
The four survivors prepared themselves as the platform lowered itself. It had been a long journey and now it was almost over. Ellis had a huge grin on his face as he slightly bounced in place. He turned to Nick who also was smiling bit. The two men entangled their fingers together and squeezed hands.
"You ready to kill those sonavabitches?" Ellis asked when the platform finally fell into place. Nick gave him a grin.
"Kill them all." he whispered giving Ellis a quick kiss on the lips before they took off weapons in hand.
Many obstacles lay in front of them but the survivors were not phased by it. They all ran at a speed they didn't know they could run at shooting everything in their path.
They climbed over cars, dodged hordes of infected and jumped over small gaps on the bridge soon the faint sound of a helicopter could be heard a short distance away.
"I SEE IT!" Coach yelled standing on top of a car; he shot down an infected and waved towards the others. "HURRY IT UP!"
Hope filled their hearts until they heard the earth shaking roar of a Tank. The large infected barreled through towards them with a crazy look in its dead eyes. Rochelle threw a grenade at the creature but it still moved forward at an even faster pace now.
"MOVE!" Coach shouted trying to shoot down the Tank but it had no effect on it. The survivors made a mad dash the chopper when suddenly they heard a cry for help.
Looking back they saw Ellis get rammed by the Tank. The impact sending the boy flying over the bridge. "ELLIS!" Nick screamed running to the edge despite Coach and Rochelle's calls. Soon everything went black.
He heard distant voices speaking in whispers. Opening his eyes took alot of energy his vision was blurred and his head was spinning. Soon the figures came in view. Coach and Rochelle hovered over him.
"Where...." he chocked not recognizing his surroundings feeling the cold metal floor he was laying on."You're on the chopper. We had to knock you out with all the lashing out you did you crazy bastard." Coach scolded him.
"Coach please now's not the time to yell at him. He was trying to help him......" Rochelle stated softly. His eyes widened and he looked around for their missing team member.
"Where...is he?!" he demanded trying to get up but was pushed back down. The looks on their faces told the answer to his question.
"We tried to save him....believe us we tried but....but the Tank....it would have gotten the both of you. He told us to take you and run you wouldn't leave so he knocked you out." Coach explained in a shaky voice. Soon the air grew silent except for the cries coming from the injured man on the ground.
"That....stupid! Why did he.....have to and.....get that Tank more angry than it was?!" he sobbed banging his fists on the floor.
"WHY?! WE WERE SO CLOSE! WHY DID HE HAVE TO AND GET KILLED???!!!!" he screamed at the top of his lungs.
"He...he gave this to us...before we left...." Rochelle handed over bloodied and ripped item. Clenching it to his body he took in the scent of its dead owner. It reeked of sweat, blood and dead zombies but he loved it.
"Why.....why did you have to die....I love you....I love....you" he cried softly curling up into a ball repeating the same question over and over until falling into a dreamless sleep with the image of his dead love in his mind.
All he had left was the loving memories of.....him.
might add 2 more chapters showing the senarios in wich Nick or Ellis had died.
