Chess
"Arrrrrrrrrgh!" Lena cried as she bashed her head on the keyboard. She was actually decently good at checkers! Yet this internet stranger had beaten her in less than ten moves. He had also reprogrammed the message board so that instead of corny preprogrammed messages, he could write in his own words. She continued her assault on the keyboard until a message popped up.
p
'You're not that bad. I'll play you again.'
p
Determination burned in the girl's eyes as she typed back, 'Yes.'

Artemis Fowl looked at the computer screen. Finally, an opponent who was at least mediocre. He sighed. He would never find someone who was challenging to play against.
p
Butler looked over to see what the cause of his charge's sigh was. While HE would never let noise escape a person he was… putting out of service, other assassins might not be so careful. Ah, but Master Arty was fine. It looked like he was playing internet checkers again. It always slightly depressed him.
p
Lena attacked the game with renewed determination. There. He was leaving a flaw in his defense. If he didn't block it this move, she could jump every piece on the board…
p
p
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" screamed Artemis, causing Butler to jump up so quickly he knocked his chair over. Artemis began banging his head into the keyboard. "I can't-" Smack "Believe!" Smack "That I!" Smack "Would Leave!" Smack "Such!" Smack "An OBVIOUS!" Smack smack smack "Hole!"
p
Butler decided that the keyboard really didn't deserve such horrible treatment, and gently directed Artemis' anger towards a less expensive target. It would be good for the boy to learn defeat, he thought, in case he ever decided to play against Foaly again.
p
Lena smile smugly at her computer. That'd teach him, whoever he was. She switched the computer off and went to bed.

Author's note: Bored. Been reading Artemis Fowl all week. Chess thing just jumped into my head.
