Untitled Drabbles Part One: Fries

Here's the deal: I need food. I haven't had food in... two hours and I need it. So I go to the Curtis house to mooch off of them. Darry's gone, ice box empty, pantries bare, so I assume (being an ass to you and me) that he's on a grocery run. And I can't wait while Darry decides which tub of milk to buy, red or blue cap, or what brand of bread to choose, which tub of ketchup looks best, or if the devil's chocolate cake is a better deal than the classic chocolate.

So I sit myself on the couch next to Dally, who sported a tuff bruise on his cheek from a fight from Shepard the previous night. Then I realize something, He has a car!

"Dally!" I scream, grabbing him. He looks at me from the corner of his eye, in an almost glare if he cared enough.

"What do you want?" he asked, and I felt the venom dripping from his canine teeth. Harsh.

"You got any money?" I asked, batting my eyelashes. He narrowed his eyes at me.

"No," he answered simply.

So I sighed and slumped into the couch. "Neither do I," I said.

"Why do you need money?" he asked, propping his feet on the coffee table.

"Food."

"Jeez, Two-Bit. C'mon." And he gets up, walking to the door. I jump up and follow him to his, Bucks, T-Bird. I hop in shotgun while he gets in behind the wheel. Good place, might I add, to drive.

Dally turns the car on and speeds off onto the main road, heading towards Dairy Queen. I eye him suspiciously for a moment, till he pulls in. Then he turns to me.

"Get out."

And I do so, not wanting to go against his order. What Dally says is law. I go to the opposite side of the car and look at him.

"I'm going to order some fries, that's it. Two orders."

I beam up.

"But you have to run aside between the window and the car. When she passes them to me, you grab them and run."

And he drives off to the menu before I say 'Okay'. I barely hear him make the order, then watch him drive to the window. I notice they usually take in money before giving the food. But I see that they don't, and that they start to hand him the food.

I run between another car and the store, and come up beside Dally, grabbing the bag and running in another direction. I hear Dally screaming towards my direction, then directing it to them. And I hear the T-Bird's vroom as he peals out of there. I'm on the other side of the main road now, enjoying my fries as he pulls up beside me.

He grins as me. "Good job," he says, barely any meaning in those words. I jump in and hand him the other container of fries.

"You saved me!" I yell at him, my mouth stuffed with fries.

"Of course," he retorts, eating a few fries.

I reach over and steal a couple, but he grabs my hand and glares at me. "There are several sacred things in this world that you don't ever mess with. One of them happens to be another man's fries. Now, you remember that, and you will live a long and healthy life."

He crunches my hand under his grasp, so I drop the few, frail fries onto his lap and bring my hand back to my bubble. Then he reaches over and opens the door.

"Get out."

And I do, again, since what Dally says is law. I shut the door as he starts to speed off. Once he's out of sight, I look at the container of fries in my hand.

I grab one and pop it into my mouth.

Gasp, I used WordPad! Any mistakes, feel free to tell me.

I put this up cause I'm leaving for... I dunno how long, and I wanted to leave y'all with something.

Thanks to Men at Work(1990) and the use of the line, "There are several sacred things in this world that you don't ever mess with. One of them happens to be another man's fries.
