Shawn Spencer has always fixed his problems with jokes and misleading tomfoolery,
But when it doesn't work, because it can't always work,
He does the one thing he knows best.
He runs away.
And runs faster and farther than he ever has, only to find, he misses it.
But he doesn't know if he can back, because it's been so damn long…
Since he last ran away.
And Santa Barbra has different rules,
You can't come back, because you miss it,
Especially since you weren't supposed to run away just because you were scared in the first place.
But when you run out of places to hide in, where do you go?
You go to the thing you were running from.
You go to the person who scares you more than death itself.
That is what Shawn had to do,
He went to the person who made his heart stop
He banged on the door till he felt it would break down
And when the door didn't answer,
He dropped his head in shame.
And turned to leave to continue running.
And as he turned, he saw the one person he was running from.
And after being missing for 2 months, they stared at each other dumb struck.
And still while pain and abandonment filled their broken heart,
Shawn was still lead inside.
So that they could talk and mend what was broken.
So they could discuss why Shawn came back.
And while the conversation became awkward and confusing,
It didn't stop Shawn from saying 'I love you,
And I was scared of you'
And even though he left without word, without warning and without consent,
He came back, and that was good enough.
Shawn returned and explained why he ran, where he stayed, and why he came back.
While the tears flowed in the explanation,
2 arms wrapped around him and begged him to stay.
And because Shawn Spencer was so afraid to leave again he promised.
And while in the midst of sad tears turned to joy, they became lost,
They found each other and never let go,
2 bodies became one as they whispered I love you back and forth.
They held each other so tight that each movement was in sync,
Clothes began to shed and kisses grew hotter
And while they whispered it was wrong, it was to fast
Neither could stop themselves from engulfing the others lips in their own.
The afternoon turned to night and the night turned to morning
Their bodies didn't become separate once
Every touch between them,
Caused a smile and memory to cherish
An odd feeling washed over him as he realized what he had to do.
He returned to the station and lied to everyone
Claiming stretched tales and far fetched stories
And while everyone welcomed him back,
The air was still tense with a betrayal they'd never be rid of.
He didn't want things to be awkward,
So the lies kept coming, and he regretted everyone of them
He already knew his entire life was a lie, why not continue?
It wasn't long before he finally revealed the truth behind his motive
That he was scared
That he was scared and alone and told no one why
Left no notification of where he'd gone,
Not even warned his best friend he'd be disappearing
But he promised that he was like a boomerang
That he'd always come back,
If it ever happened again
If.
Shawn Spencer continued his days with jokes
And more tomfoolery
Although he no longer needed to mislead.
His controlled himself from running when things got complicated
And lived out happily, in a still long lie
But while the lie stretched on
More truth unraveled
He spent countless nights in his 'others' bed
And smiled upon ever time his name was uttered.
He promised not to run or hide
Despite the fact he craved it
But it was worth it to be cradled and loved.
No problems arose
Although tension filled the air.
He didn't mind the questions though,
Because at the end of the day
It was worth it to say
'I love you too Carlton'
