Prompt #2 [Location] Twilight Drive-In

"Glad to see that you came." He smirked as he stepped from behind the wall.

Kevin stiffened up. "What is it that you want?" He demanded as he folded his arms across his jacket.

The right side of his lip drew up. "You know what I want." He leaned against the wall.

Kevin's eyes slanted. "No." He replied forcefully.

"You have the nerve to say no to me?" His face darkened. "Whom taught you to be brave? It can't be Joaquin. After all I told Joaquin to use you …."

Kevin stiffened.

"Perhaps it's Chic." His head nodded. "That Cooper has more backbone then DeSantos." He licked his dry lips.

"Leave Chic out of this." Kevin breathed quicker.

"Don't worry Kevin; I'm not going after Chic Cooper. I'm not going after any of the Coopers. Not even Hal or Alice." He reached in his jacket pocket and withdrew a packet of cigs. He placed on between his teeth, and lit it with his lighter. "Even Alice deserves it." He drew in a deep drag on his cig before pulling it out from his teeth. He blew a even amount of smoke out of his nose. "Shame."

Kevin didn't loosen up. His eyes drifted around making sure no one was at the Twilight Drive – In. Making sure that Jughead wasn't around that is. He turned his eyes back to the man's. "Why did you call for me."

"I got a little job for you Kevin." He flicked his ashes to the side. His eyes locked onto the hazel one of the sixteen year old teenager. "You won't say no to this one Kevin. I won't allow it." He placed the butt back between his teeth as he drew in more smoke. "Relax Kevin it's not a horrible dirty job that I have for you. You'll actually enjoy doing it."

Kevin rolled his eyes.

He laughed. "You have learned well my young Keller. Your Pop should be very proud of you." He watched as Kevin's body stiffened even tighter.

"What is it?" A fearful note was in Kevin's voice.

"Make sure that Betty become close personal friends with Veroncia Lodge when she moves to Riverdale next to week." He sighed.

"Why?" Kevin demanded in a hard tone.

"That's not for you to ask Kevin. It's for you to make sure happens!" He spoke in a final tone. He moved around the wall and out of sight.

Kevin sighed as he followed with his eyes. He was confused. Why was it so important for Betty to become good friends with Veronica Lodge? What did Veronica have to do with this? He of course had to follow the demand. But he would protect Betty at all cost. If he feels that Veronica will destroy Betty then he would freely give up his own life to protect Betty.

He watched as Kevin finally turned, and walked the way he came. He pulled out his cell phone and quickly dialed a number; "It is done as you wish boss. I will make sure it comes to pass." He spoke into the phone as the dark clouds covered him completely.

I decided to change the timeline a little bit ... that Kevin met Joaquin much sooner than he did in S1. I have him meeting Joaquin even before Veronica moved to Riverdale. This is currently a one shot ... but I may return to it at a later date.
