Inspiration: I was just kinda thinking about how different childhood is from now, and the way we used to see things, to how we do now... knowing just what pain is, heartbreak, and death... The blind innocence of a child that is stolen in the blink of an eye by the media...or by experience... Sometimes don't you wish you could continue to be that innocent and naive? To not know the pains of the world... and live in your own imaginary world?
~Lessons Learned~
I sit here on this icy floor
Shattered, torn, I can take it no more...
The life I knew before was a simple one,
I never questioned anything or anyone.
Now I can see the faces, of the lifeless and used
knowing they lie amoung the abused.
We are frayed, used, and broken...
But to us all, there is but this small token..
That we are not alone, for we are the chosen.
The girl in your class, unwilling to speak
The boy who's story changes from week to week
The man you passed, on your way to school
The lady at the corner, used like a tool.
The faces of the world, we all have our problems...
It's left up to us, on how, or if we solve them.
Some may turn away, some may even break down
But I'm willing to try and turn it around
I'm tired of being the odd one out,
I want to find out just what life is about
So today I lose my pain, and start anew
But I'll take those lessons I learned from you....
And I'll put them to good use, because now I know...
I am stronger, thats exactly why I can let you go,
Because I know just who I am, and what I can be...
without your words haunting me.
