"There is no way of saving them you know." Shadow said in his emotionless tone. Sonic and Knuckles nodded. They were in a dark ally with time not on their side.
"You know the deal. Get it. Get out." Shadow explained. The two looking at him nodded.

"How do you know this to be true?" Amy asked her friend Cream. They were inside Amy's office and Cream brought her the update.
"It's all over, Amy. It's spreading faster than we thought and the survival rate is so low there is no hope anymore." Amy looked at her friend in disbelief. So it was true.

"No!" Knuckles shouted in shock.
Sonic smirked and placed the gun on his own head. Shadow had his fists clenched and charged at Sonic. He tackled the blue blur on the edge of a building's roof. Both males dangerously close to falling over the side.

"It's time we fight back!" Shadow shouted as he banged his fist on the table. Everyone looked at him and agreed. They were all gathered together inside an old base. They were the world's last hope.

"Wait!" Sonic shouted at Shadow who was holding Amy with a knife under her chin. Amy looked scared and looked at Sonic.
Shadow looked directly at Sonic and smirked. He turned and threw Amy off the side of the building they were on.
"Amy!" Sonic cried out as he dashed after her.

"Well? What do you say? Will join us in this experiment?" Doctor Robotonik smiled at Sonic, Shadow, and Knuckles.
The group looked at each other and nodded.
"Excellent." The doctor smiled.
