Here is a story that I MIGHT start. Let me know if it's worth continuing! Thanks!

Prologue

Darkness enveloped the land. There was no moon out tonight, and rain dripped steadily from the thick clouds overhead. The rumble of thunder could be heard in the distance. Deep in the forest, the cats of Thunderclan were curled up, asleep, in their moss nests. A sorrel tabby slept peacefully in the nursery, with her kits cuddled close to her. The bracken rustled, and a handsome gray tom stepped into the nursery. His emerald green eyes gazed at the queen and her kits for some time. Then he slowly, silently crouched down and carefully gripped the scruff of a kit between his teeth. He rose back to his feet. The kit opened it's emerald eyes and blinked, sleepily. The tom exited the nursery and made his way out of the camp. He hoped he was doing the right thing. He looked up at the dark sky, hoping for an answer, and saw nothing, not a single star. Rain water dripped off his fur as he hurried through the trees, still pondering whether this was the right thing to do. The kit began to mew, probably for it's mother. It was probably cold, too. He glanced down at the kit. Like him, the tortoiseshell kit was soaked. He reached the edge of the trees, very close to the Windclan border. This is it. He thought to himself, Once I leave, there is no turning back. Oh, Starclan! I wish there was some other way! Am I doing the right thing? Should I go on? He looked out onto the lake, and there, dancing on the water as raindrops fell around it, was the reflection of a single star. A warrior of Starclan.

The tom crossed the border, and rushed across Windclan territory. As he crossed the border into unknown lands, he sat down the kit. It sat, shivering and wet, blinking up at him, mewling. The tom gazed sadly down at it. The words he had heard come from the mouth of the medicine cat rang in his ears.

"Darkness will rule both night and day, and no cat shall be safe. But a storm will return, bringing rain that will wash away the darkness, and save the forest."

"It is not safe for you there, now. You are destined to do great things, but for now, Rainkit, I must keep you safe."
