Elena closed her front door, twisting the key. She sighed impatiently and spun around, staring blankly at the tall brooding vampire leaning on her porch frame. Stefan's expression was confused and pained, his arms crossed and arms flexed.

"Stefan, what do you want?" She asked, exhausted. Stefan's eyes crawled over her, the hurt in his eyes becoming more prominent by the second. "I just wanted to talk to you, see you." He pushed himself off from his leaning position and was quickly standing in front of Elena, towering over her.

"You haven't answered any of my calls. Why are you pushing me away?" He asked, the desperation in his voice so crystal clear. Elena sighed; trying to push passed him, knowing it was completely useless.

"Because Stefan." His eyebrows knit together and his lips pursed in confusion. "Because I broke up with you. I've moved on. I don't love you anymore. I-I love someone else." She finished, finding herself feeling conflicted. Her brow pinched together in thought. Why was she over Stefan? Why did they break up? Elena wet her lips.

"Stefan..." She said softly, staring into his leaf green eyes. What was she supposed to say? What was she supposed to do? She could feel their bodies moving closer. Her heart raced and her breath weakened. Her eyes searched his face, why did she leave him? She could feel this building tension in her stomach, butterflies setting fire to her veins. Her eyes eventually landed on his lips, perfect and waiting. Stefan seemed to notice her hesitation and staring.

"Elena." He moved closer, lowering his head. Elena closed her eyes and waited to feel his lips crush against her. But it never came. Her eyes flew open in a flurry of relief, confusion and disappointment. When she opened her eye, she hadn't expected what she saw.

Klaus' hand was firmly pressed on Stefan's chest, his mouth set in a vengeful straight line. "Stefan." He greeted tensely, his angry seeping through his tone of voice. Stefan moved his jaw, and nodded his head once. "Klaus." He greeted, as equally curtly. Elena let out a short sigh, turning her mouth into a sweet smile. "Klaus, you're here." She breathed happily. Realization flicked in Stefan's eyes. The forest eyes shot between Klaus and Elena, confusion and hurt jumping forward. "Klaus? W-Wait... Klaus is the person you're in love with?" He spat hotly.

Elena's face crumpled, sympathy covered her face. "Stefan I-" He pursed his lips and shook his head, something he did when he tried to hide his anger. "Don't." He said sternly, taking a step back. "Just, don't. You don't owe me anything, Elena." She could feel her heart breaking and she couldn't figure out why? She'd choose this. "Just know that I love you." Was the last thing he said before he was gone in a flash.

Klaus took a dominate step forward as if to say, 'yeah, you better run.' Elena put one hand on his chest gently and turned his face with her other hand. "Forget it." She smiled softly, pressing her lips tenderly on his. A smile spread across his mouth. "Whatever you say, Love."
