Pairings:

RikuSora/ Horizon Shipping

This. Is. So. LATE. I'm TERRIBLY SORRY to aznmi on DeviantArt. I promised him/her that I'd make a one-shot based off of his/her's picture of Riku pushing Sora away in fear that Sora will fall into darkness.

That was more than a year ago. O_e

Yeah… don't get me wrong guys, I truly like making other people fics, I just take so DAMN LONG getting off my lazy ass to actually DO IT. *slaps self* UNACCEPTABLE.

Summary:

Riku is unclean. He shouldn't be allowed to touch the light, no matter what Sora says.

Warnings: RikuSora hints, Riku being emo, Pre- Dream Drop Distance, Spoilers (I would think EVERYONE would know what happened in KH2 by now. O_o)

Sometimes… Riku wished he wasn't himself. Many would argue why he would want such a thing.

After all… he was considered the hottest guy in school, not to mention one of the smartest even though he hasn't been to school in the last two years. His parents were successful entrepreneurs and gave him anything he asked.

But those had huge disadvantages that trumped the advantages contrary to what everyone thought.

Being good-looking and rich made him distrusting to the majority school population and it was only thanks to knowing Sora that he actually had a group of friends who he knew weren't just after his looks and/or money.

Being smart made him susceptible to the greedy teachers and colleges who wanted to only further themselves and would drop him the instant he started moving down from the top five spots in his school.

Having rich parents only made them busier and did the stereotype. They never actually spent time with him, never sat down and asked him how he was, how was his school day, if he would like to hang out with them for a while or go over to Sora's house (who they didn't approve of).

They barely noticed he was gone and had pretty much scoffed at him when he told them that their son had been missing for two years and tried to explain just how that came to be. They told him to go to his room for making such a tall tale when he should be spending time studying.

Yeah, it didn't go well, obviously.

Now, Riku was staring at the starry sky filled with all the worlds shining brightly, a scene so similar to the night so long ago, just before Destiny Islands was swallowed by darkness.

He involuntarily shivered. What had he been thinking?

Nonsense. That was for sure.

The worst of it was that he couldn't stop feeling horribly unclean when he touched Sora.

Even when Sora was in that memory pod, Riku refrained from even standing too close to it. He was afraid… that if he touched Sora, he'd disappear into the same darkness he was trapped in.

Sora isn't meant for that.

He's meant to shine like the sun has done for so long in his namesake.

Riku took one last look at the sky before walking across the marble balcony and into his room. Tomorrow, he and Sora would journey to Twilight Town. The letter the king sent them told them to meet at Master Yen Sid's Tower.

Something about a test.

Okay.

First of all, I'm positive Riku is somewhat rich because in the manga version of KH, Riku IS seen on a rather fancy balcony saying "The door… has opened."

By Sora's namesake, I mean "sky". If you didn't already know Sora's name meant sky… where the frick have you been?!

Thanks for reading this typed-in-twenty-minutes fic! :D

Review, fav, do what you do!

(Once again, SO sorry for this being so late!)

PS: Riku = Earth. Sora = Sky. Kairi = Sea/Ocean; To separate. Wow, Square Enix. Just wow. You pretty much gave fodder for Horizon Shipping without trying. Seriously… I've said:

KAIRI'S SEPERATING SORA AND RIKU, THE B*TCH. IT'S IN HER EFFIN' NAME.

To my friend on Skype. She laughed. (Frackin' Enna, you amazing person, upload a damn story already…)
