AN: I'm not too happy with this, I was planning it would be longer, but it kind of reached a natural end, so yeah haha. Please rate and review! :)
"H-hey, Quinn..." Rachel said, blinking back tears at the sight of the blonde girl led in the hospital bed, looking so broken.
She walked over to the chair that was next to the bed and sat in it. Rachel took one of Quinn's hands in hers, shuddering at the sight of so many wires surrounding her. Even after a month of visiting the hospital every day, she still couldn't bear the sight.
Settling herself in to the chair, Rachel took a deep breath and started talking to Quinn, like she always did.
"Not much has happened since yesterday. Everyone still misses you," she said. "I realised that I haven't told you about what happened on the day of your, you know... accident. So, I thought maybe I'd tell you today." She carried on talking as if Quinn was awake, like she always did.
"Well, I didn't want to get married without you there. You're... Well, you're my best friend. I strung it out as long as possible, but Finn said that we'd lose our spot if we didn't go in right then... so we did," she whispered, biting her lip. "That was when I texted you. I wish so much that I hadn't, because- because that's what made you crash. That's what distracted you. I've never regretted anything more than sending that text to you."
Rachel buried her head in her hands. "The phone call came just as the vicar said 'speak now, or forever hold your peace'. If it had been any other circumstances, it would have seemed ironic, I guess," she said, squeezing her eyes shut at the memory of Sue rushing back in to the church, saying Quinn had been in an accident, that she might not make it... "Finn wanted to carry on with the wedding. He said it wouldn't be much longer. But I couldn't. I just... couldn't. I had to see if you were okay."
Taking Quinn's hand again, she continued. "And, at the time, I thought it was just because you were my best friend. But I've done a lot of thinking, this past month. And I've realised now. I've realised something I'm pretty sure you knew anyway," she whispered, leaning her head on to Quinn's hand. "Because I love you, Quinn Fabray. And I just need you to wake up. For me. Please."
With that, Rachel heard a faint, croaky voice say, "I love you too, Rachel Berry."
