Sigh. As I watched the female teacher attempt to explain a difficult math problem, I wondered how every one in class was staying awake. Come to think of it, how am I staying awake anyway?

Sigh. Giving up on listening to the teacher, I took a quick peek at the girl sitting behind me. Haruhi's snow-white skin seemed to glow in the light of the window, which she was currently staring out of. Everything about her screamed boredom, but that was nothing new.

In fact, the last week or so Haruhi had been relatively tame. Almost too tame. Was this yet again the calm before the storm? Suspicious, I scanned the room for signs of spontaneous combustion, or something signifying that Haruhi had at last given up on the laws of physics. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary as of now, but I had a strange feeling that something was off. Something here wasn't quite right.

Shrugging off the sudden sense of impending doom, I looked down at my notebook to at least take some notes, lest I fail the test next week. I was surprised to find that my notebook was gone, and in the place where it had been sat was a coffee mug. After several seconds of staring at said mug with my mouth open like an idiot, I hastily looked around the room again.I immediately noticed that three of my classmates had disappeared and been replaced with Nagato, Asahina, and Koizumi.

???

No one else seemed to notice this, and he three brigade members didn't look at all worried.

Wait a second. This wasn't normal. I didn't hear them come in, and this coffee isn't even hot. I started to turn towards Haruhi again, but I never got the chance.

The windowed wall of our classroom turned into outer space and sucked my entire class out. As I (literally) stared into space trying to figure out what the hell was going on, I saw Asahina float by me in a maid costume, crying and confused. Soon after, Nagato floated past me upside down. She was kneeling and had her hands on her lap; her face was expressionless. Koizumi was nowhere to be found. Then I heard the sound of laughter behind me. Turning around I watched Haruhi Suzumiya float into space with the biggest smile I have ever seen. She looked right at me and held out her hand.

"Kyon!"

Despite my better judgment, I smiled back. I couldn't help it. It was like Haruhi had some huge energy emitting from her, like a sun. Maybe she was the sun, I couldn't be too sure about anything these days.

I killed the smile on my face, but reached out for Haruhi's hand. Maybe if I played along with her for a while, I could convince her to change the world back to normal.

And anyways, its not like I didn't expect this to happen. Haruhi Suzumiya was bound to snap eventually.
