My co-workers and I pass around a notebook where we write short fiction, and give each other prompts. I thought this short drabble was cute enough to warrant my emergence out of lurking. It has been years since I've posted anything, so any feedback is appreciated.

Prompt: Big brother discusses the birds and the bees to little brother (can be SPN or any fandom).

Disclaimer: I own none of these characters, and I promise to treat them nice and feed them pie before I give them back.

Warnings: Mild swearing

"The Talk"

Dean walked into the bedroom he was sharing with nine-year-old brother, Sammy, while their dad was on a hunting trip. "Heya, Sammy. Bobby says dinner will be ready in half an hour." Dean looked at his brother, who was sitting on the floor, reading a book. A really large, serious-looking book. "What are you reading?"

Sam looked up at Dean, confusion clear on his face. "I asked Dad before he left where babies came from, and he said to ask Bobby." Sam rolled his eyes and sighed, "So I asked Bobby, and he got all panicky and gave me this," he held up the tome so Dean could read the title.

"Human Anatomy and Sexuality," Dean read out-loud. He grabbed the book out of his brother's hands and thumbed through the pages. "What the hell, Sammy? You actually understand this?"

Sam shook his head, "Not really."

For the millionth time, Dean wished that his dad was here - but he wasn't and John trusted Dean to look after Sammy while he was gone. Which brought Dean back to the problem at hand: how was he supposed to explain the birds and the bees to his little brother?

With an air of confidence he didn't quite feel, Dean tossed the heavy textbook aside and walked over to the bed that was "his" while the boys stayed at Bobby's. Dean kneeled down and lifted the mattress up a couple of inches. He reached in and pulled out the magazine he had stashed there. The title read, "Busty Asian Babes: Road Trip Special." Gracing the front cover, were obviously well endowed women of Asian decent, their bodies strategically covered by an unfolded road map.

Dean turned back towards his brother and held up the magazine. "Ok, Sammy. Let's start with the basics."
