Written for TV100 LJ community's challenge of "Eavesdropping"
Six year old Alex Xanatos woke up after a bad dream. He ran to his parents' room, but the door was closed. From inside he could hear groans. Thinking they were in pain, he opened the door and saw his parents in bed, kissing and holding each other.
David and Fox were surprised to hear their son come in and quickly stopped what they were doing.
"What is it, honey?" asked Fox.
"Uh... it was just a nightmare. I'll go back to bed, goodnight." Now I'm going to have worse dreams, he thought as he headed back down the hall.
