Disclaimer: I TOTALLY PWN SAYU! Not. But if I had any say in it, she would have a full recovery and lots of support, psychiatrists, TLC, and all the medicinal drugs she needed to make her feel better. :3
Title: Empty House
Mother out shopping.
Father out working.
Light out socializing.
Empty house. Save for Sayu. Finishing her homework for the day. Trying to finish her homework, but there were just too many numbers and the worksheet didn't properly explain what she was supposed to being doing with them. She slouched over the desk as her eyes glazed over.
She was in her brother's room. He often helped her out with homework. Being in his room while trying to solve maths problems made her feel slightly more at ease. Plus, what was wrong with snooping around your big brother's room every now and then for a little fun? Harmless, but she knew she would have to be out before he got home, or else he would probably be mad with her.
There was a half eaten apple on the desktop.
"Ugh. Light, couldn't you try to be a little more tidy?" Sayu grimaced.
The papers fluttered slightly in a breeze that came in via the open window.
Suddenly a bone-chilling shiver ran up Sayu's spine, freezing her blood and making her whole body involuntarily shudder.
And there was a whisper. Raspy and cold, it breathed into her ear, words just beyond coherency, mingled and twisted together that spoke of something just beyond her grasp. Like forbidden knowledge; forbidden fruit that liquidizes and runs through your fingers as soon as you can get your hands around it.
And it must have been taunting her, saying, "You want to know."
Sayu felt a shadow behind her. Leaning on her. Suffocating her.
Through a devilish cackling laughter she screamed, grabbed her homework and bolted for the door, slamming it shut behind her. She ran downstairs into the living room, vowing never to enter her brother's room during his absence or without his permission, lest the ghost haunting his room decide to take vengeance on her again.
Behind the door, the apple ate itself.
