It had been several years – neither of them were 18 anymore – but she still recognized him; still remembered his name even before the newscaster announced it; even before it flashed on the television screen below the grainy video of two men brutally gunning down unarmed customers and employees at a local bank.
Dean Winchester.
She smiled, despite the image of a cold-blooded murderer staring back at her from the TV.
Because she remembered a different Dean – a cocky but sweet guy; the kind of guy who was a badass with an equally badass car and yet could touch so gently, could kiss so deeply it took her breath even now after all these years.
They had only dated a couple times in high school – he was there one week...and gone the next – but she had never forgotten him; still thought about him more than a 30-year old married woman should.
"He's bad news," her mother had wisely warned back then – and it seemed, judging by tonight's newscast, that her mother had been right.
Dean Winchester was bad news.
But she still missed him; still loved him; still secretly wished she was there with him now...the Bonnie to his Clyde.
