DM Edith's Visit To The Doctor
''Edith honey what's wrong?'' Gru asked noticing Edith looked down in the dumps. Edith sighed and said ''My ears just hurt''. Gru concerning for his middle aged daughter decided to phone the GP [doctor's surgery] to make an appointment. When he had finished he spoke to Edith ''Edith' he announced 'you've got an doctor's appointment this afternoon Lucy's taking you''.
''But I don't want to see the doctor' Edith moaned 'It might hurt!''. ''Oh kitten it won't hurt I promise' Gru answered. ''You'll be going after lunch''. When the time came that afternoon for Edith's appointed. Lucy said ''Wrap up warm sweetie, it's quite cold outside. Your ears have been hurting you, so wear your new earmuffs''. Edith took a slow walk with Lucy down to the surgery. It wasn't that far at all.
Once inside, Lucy said to the lady at reception, ''Edith has an appointment to see the doctor''. ''Take a seat please and wait for the doctor to call you'' said the receptionist. Edith read a book about ninjas while she waited for her turn. It seemed like quite an awfully long time. ''Come in please!'' called the doctor when it was Edith's turn. ''Edith hasn't been feeling very well'' Lucy explained ''Her ears are very sore''.
''Let's have a look at you then Edith' the doctor said 'Can I listen to your heart and lungs?'' Lucy helped Edith remove her sweater and coat and Edith thought the stethoscope was cold on her skin. ''Now I'll look at your throat Edith'' the doctor said ''Say ahh'' After the doctor had looked in Edith's ears she said ''Well done Edith, I'll write a prescription for something to make your ears better. The doctor handed the prescription to Lucy.
On the way home they went into the chemist to hand in the prescription and collect Edith's ear medicine. As they left Lucy pointed to a bakery and said to Edith ''you can chose a cake as you were a good girl''. Seconds later when they arrived home. Dave gave Edith two sticky spoonfuls of medicine and was soon munching away at the cake she had chosen.
Gru arrived just in time to see her with cream and cake crumbs around her mouth. ''Well Edith'' he said ''It looks like you're feeling better already'' Lucy and I will be getting tea ready soon so go easy with de cake. Edith nodded through a mouthful of cake as if to say ''I'll still eat tea''.
