Disclaimers: I own nothing.

A/N: It's kind of stupid, but I hope you'll like it anyways. :)

On Wisteria Lane, every pie has its purpose. Today they were traveling across the street, filled with blueberry rumors of the lesbian variety.

Susan was one of the disbelievers, but after seeing Robin inappropriately make out with Katherine in broad daylight, she was determined to put a stop to it.

"Susan, what do you think you're doing?" Mike said, immediately recognizing the look on her face. It would bring nothing but trouble.

"I'm going over there," Susan said, and turned towards the door, only to find her feet stuck to the floor.

"No, you're not." Mike held tightly onto her shoulders.

"But they are so not good for each other. Katherine just got out of the hospital and-"

"Susan, look at me. Promise me you're not going to interfere."

Susan sighed. Mike was using that voice again, the one that made her feel like a five-year-old being scolded by her father. Reluctantly she agreed.

Half an hour later, when Mike left for work, she walked over to Katherine's. She wasn't really breaking the promise; she was merely borrowing some sugar for her pie.

"Sugar? Susan, you can't bake." Katherine raised an eyebrow.

"Oh well, where's the harm in trying?" She smiled while trying to peer over Katherine's shoulder.

"Fine, come on in."

As they sat down in the kitchen Katherine poured her friend some wine. Susan brought it to her lips and let her eyes wander around the place. Everything looked oddly normal.

"Looking for lesbian signs?"

A choking noise came from Susan as wine burst through her nose.

"That's not-" She desperately tried wiping red spots off the tablecloth and think at the same time. Maybe she hadn't really thought this through.

"Look, I know what's going on. I've seen you all rushing around like a catering company." She got up and pushed a cup of sugar towards Susan. "Yes, I slept with Robin but it's none of your business."

"I just think-"

Katherine held up a hand before Susan could launch into one of her speeches.

"I'm happy. Robin makes me happy, and that's all that matters."

And then Katherine smiled.

Everything Susan had planned to say disappeared. For the first time since Katherine got home, her smile reached her eyes. This wasn't one of Katherine's "I'm fine and didn't just get out of a mental institution" smiles. Katherine was honestly happy.

When Susan got home that evening, with a cup of sugar in her hand and a light feeling in her chest, she didn't feel the need to make a pie.
