POOR Daine, she was so seasick. The trip from Corus to Ragmuat was long and rough. The sea was stormy and the rooms were damp. No matter how much Numair wished to calm the angry waters, it seemed that Tir, a water god, supported the animal tortures. And was trying to stop them from crossing safely.
That was another reason that Daine was ill, the Animal Apex. She had felt a great disturbance in the Animal Kingdom over a month ago. Daine contacted Ali, whom had already found the name of the group: Animal Apex.
They worked to protect human life by ending Animal life. They said "we have to show the beasts that man rules the world and they are just slaves."
It infuriated Daine, but it also hurt her greatly. Numair had found her multiple nights whimpering in her chambers, rocking back and forth as she hugged her knees, with tears streaming from her eyes. Kit sitting beside her, making a worried, sound in the back of her throat.
The tears were half angry and half pain as she listened to reports from a field mouse that had come from Gempang. Daine had adopted her and called Ahbi, and Ahbi was utterly devoted to Daine, even if she hated Numair.
Currently, Ahbi was sitting timidly on Daine's quivering shoulders as she lay in fetal position moaning. Ahbi glared at Numair as if it was his fault.
"Love?" Numair asked. "Why don't you change into a bird so you can fly over the ship. I could join you."
She nodded and tensely and emptied her already empty stomach as he soothed her sweaty brow.
Daine changed in to eagle form and flew out into the open sky. Numair muttered a spell under his breath and together, they flew off into the night.
