"My dear..." Her fingers mildly touches my face, leaving me a smooth, numb feeling on that particular area of skin. I take of my head ring and put it aside. I tidy her hair behind her beautiful ears and whisper with my heart full of sorrow, "Must you go?"
"You know of that, my Lord," She lowers her head, "the poison goes too deep, that it can only be fully healed in the Undying Lands. Dearest Elrond, I now have no intend to stay on this world, in which we had already admired its youth together," A smiles lands on her pale face, "in which it has already grew old and grey." I sigh. The sorrow of departure begins growing in my heart. When she was brought back unconsciously, when I checked her situation over and over again, when I tried all I can to heal her, I knew that it will come someday and and her time had come.
Alas, she must leave this land.
Where she has pledged her love and passion down the setting sun, where we ran with a heart full of delight and without noticing the changing of the world, where she used to comb her hair to perfection under moonlight, where she used to be the most beautiful one, Lady of Rivendell.
"Elrond," She whispers and pulls me from memories to present, "I had finished my job. Our boys are now bold, excellent fighters and noble Lords-to-be, our little Evenstar is now a true lady. I have nothing, truly nothing at all to worry about in this world anymore. All my burdens are now gone, and I can now leave without anything worrying me in my minds. All my nightmares will be gone, after I reach there, and one day we will met again." Her eyes are now full with tears, and what I see on her face is a smile, a smile truer and purer than anything else, a smile after putting down all that troubles her, and finally be free again.
"My love for you will go with me and follow me to where I belong, and there it will stay and be evergreen." She leaves me with this last sentence of her.
I look at the handkerchief with her poem upon it, and weeps secretly. I smile. This is going to be good for her. After all, I will be going one day, too. When the powers of elves has diminished and the light of the Three shine no more, that will be the moment.
We will certainly meet again.
-The End-
