Kirito the Familiar

This story starts at the beginning Project Alicization arc. Other than Kirito's death, this story won't contain many spoilers for those who don't have time to read the light novel. This fanfic is also remade with the third person to see how it works out.

I don't own Familiar of Zero (Noboru Yamaguchi) or Sword Arts Online (Reki Kawahara),

So, let the story start!

I could hear the muffling sound of my girlfriend, Asuna, calling in desperation for me to stay awake with her. I resist the urge to fall asleep as my energy drastically deteriorates. The world begins to fade into darkness as I start to lose conscience. The last thing I could hear is the ambulance siren, screaming its song as it makes its way to the park. However, the drug has finally taken over my conscience until I couldn't hear the voice that supported me throughout the direst situations. All I can see is

nothing

Almost all my senses are turned off, only my sight is what's left, but even that wasn't much in this void space. I couldn't even feel myself as I float in the middle of the void, waiting for the god of death to take me to the afterlife.

"Except that grim reaper won't come." A voice calls out. I was surprised at the voice in the apparent void, but my face can't express this as I can't move any muscles. "Of course, you can't move your muscles, you have died you know. You will need some time to get used to being alive again."

What do you mean? Anyway, what's with this voice, the more I listen to the voice, the more apparent that something's wrong with it. My brain hurts from trying to figure out the missing piece to the puzzle, so I decided to not think about it.

"But for now, I need a part of you now so while half your soul plays a part in your world. I will link your other half of your soul to play a role in this world."

A green light glow faintly in the darkness, beckoning my body as it moves closer to the light source. I could faintly hear a young girl's voice, coming from the light.

"My servant that exists somewhere in the vast universe,

my divine,

beautiful,

wise

and powerful familiar,

heed my call,

I which and assert from the bottom of my heart …

Answer my guidance…

And appear!"

"Let us begin with the keyword to link to the new world."

My body engulfs in the green light, sending me to an unknown destination. Just as I was about to leave, I realise what was wrong as the voice split into two distinct voices when they shout the keyword.

""LINK START""

Tristian Academy of Magic, The day of the summoning ritual.

BOOM!

The sound of an explosion fills the air, and the dust blinds me from any nearby vital figures. I could vaguely see people standing up, after taking cover from that seems to be a magical ritual. It took a while until the dust cleared so I could grasp and have a better understanding of my surroundings. A person shouts but pauses a bit when he realises that the spell works as the dust entirely cleared up, exposing me to the audience. A red hair girl, standing next to a pink hair girl, mocks her in a language I never heard before. Judging from their gestures, I could figure out that the pink haired girl was the summoner.

If I have gotten the translation plug-in, I could hear the red hair girl jeered,

"Expected of Zero, to summon a female commoner."

?

"Seems like the chosen player has taken their place desu~." The first voice said, staring at a crack.

"Let's hope the boy can do this." The second said, annoyed at the fact that the nobles still believes that Kazuto is a commoner despite his odd clothing attire. Has the stereotype for citizens blinded the nobles this far?

LOOKING BACK

This section is just things I'm going to comment on the last update. For those who don't know, my English isn't on par with anyone who spoke English starting at the same time as I did (which is pre-school). Also, I spend too long swapping between first and second, so I wonder if this version is entirely in the first person or not, but let get to back to my comments about the previous update.

The first paragraph is a bit bland, and one dimensioned to the point I think Asuna is the only thing in Kirito's mind. Kind of understandable because I don't want to spoil the upcoming SAO. Two characters are added to give the story more depth on how kirito got transported to Tristian instead of Saito. No more pov switching and more of Kirito's thoughts are added in. Finally, just some thoughts about the who commoner problems in Tristian.
