Hey guys! Twentieth Ce- I mean, I present to you Steven Universe: Independence Day, directed by Roland Emm- I mean, me! This is a remake of an old story I made over a year ago during my first month on fanfiction, known as "The Invasion"! It sucked… So I'm remaking it! And I already have one Yellow Diamond story (Which had become a success), but I want to do a YD story from my Gem Children storyline too.

Now, I'm basing this story entirely off of the real Independence Day film, so if you haven't seen it, you may encounter spoilers in some type of form. And you're probably thinking "Basing a story almost entirely off of a movie?! Have you no originality?!". Well think about it, first time I made a YD based story using pure originality, it was a flop. And I love the Independence Day film, it's just so epic! I will have new characters be introduced soon, that are different from the characters from the movie they're based on, but all have the same role as in the movie. Anyways, let's get riiiiiiiiiiiiiight into the fanfic!

Chapter 1: A Significant Turn Of Events

Exosphere-6,200 Miles Over Earth-June 23rd

Earth's Exosphere, a quiet region of the planet's gravitational pull. The only thing standing between the Exosphere and the cold vacuum of space is nothing. Just a figurative construct to differ atmospheric temperatures. This usually quiet part of Earth's atmosphere is suddenly broken through. The object, a mysterious object, composed of shiny black material. It is shaped like a broad W, very similar to a human Stealth Bomber. The craft also has two blades erecting up from both sides adjacent to the cockpit.

The craft was descending down on the Earth. As the craft descended further through the Earth's atmosphere, it was starting to catch fire, although, it seems that the flames are not damaging it at all.

The craft ripped through the clouds. By the time it had broke through, it was no longer spewing flames. The craft was flying over fields, trees, and was slowing down. It was lowering down. Then, in front of the craft, there was a canyon. Littering the canyon were many holes, and giant devices that resemble bacteriophages.

This was the Kindergarten.

The craft stopped, and seemed to hover from the ground by a few feet. The craft was silent for a few seconds, then, from the bottom of the craft, a ramp was lowered down. Three figures ran out from the ramp and stood on the cold hard ground.

They were Rubies.

"Ugh, this planet is so dirty." said one Ruby, her gem being located on her chest, "Why do we have to come here? I hate it already. Everything's terrible… Ugh…"

"Haha! This planet looks so funny!" said another Ruby, her gem being located where her nose should be, with her uniform having a diamond shaped hole around her belly area.

"Alright Rubies! You know what to do, so get to it already!" said the last Ruby, who's gem was on her forehead, and wearing an epaulette on both shoulders.

Then, a voice echoed from inside the craft.

"Our time here will be brief. Our purpose here is to find out what happened to the Cluster, and report back to Yellow Diamond."

A figure descended from the ramp. It was a Peridot, with her gem where her left eye should be.

The bossy Ruby turned to her comrades.

"Well, what did I say, Rubies?! Do your purpose!" she pointed to the Peridot, "Protect the Peridot and keep a look out!"

The Rubies surrounded the Peridot. The Peridot groaned in annoyance, and walked forward, with the Rubies following.

The group walked up to the entrance into the underground Kindergarten maintenance room. The Peridot slid on her feet down to the bottom. The Rubies followed behind. They stopped at the bottom, and walked up to the podium. She placed her limb enhancer hands on the podium, and it glowed, along with the screen. A list of many Gem shards came up on the screens.

"Ah good, the power still works." said the Peridot as she was tapping on the podium, "Now to check on the Cluster."

She tapped, and a rotating Earth globe came up, showing the Cluster. Though, something seemed to be surrounding it. The Peridot was perplexed.

"That's strange…"

"What is it?" said the bossy Ruby, averting her eyes to the Peridot.

"The Cluster seems to be held captive by something, preventing it from forming. It seems to have bubbled itself…"

"Yellow Diamond will not like this." said the humorous Ruby, "This won't be funny at all."

"You're right, Yellow Diamond will not like this one bit." said the Peridot, staring at the screen.

The Peridot walked from the podium back to the entranceway. The Rubies followed from behind. Once they reached the top, the Peridot looked down on her comrades.

"So, which one of us is gonna break the news to Yellow Diamond?"

Suddenly, voices could be heard. The bossy Ruby put her hand to her ear.

"So this is where you said the mysterious object would be, Garnet?"

"Yes, Steven, my future vision showed we would find it here."

The group was looking around.

"Someone's here!" said the Peridot, "Quick, hide!"

The group hid behind a rock.

Multiple shadows moved up to the craft. It was Steven, Connie, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl. They examined the craft.

"Woah! What is this?!" said Steven, "It's so neat!"

"It looks awfully like a stealth bomber, all except for the two blades sticking out near the front." said Connie.

Over at the rock, the bossy Ruby peeked over at the Crystal Gems. She turned back to the others.

"They're Gems!" she whispered with excitement.

The Peridot peeked over at them. She looked back to the Rubies.

"Alright, don't panic. We'll just hide here until they-"

The bossy Ruby stood up and pointed towards the Gems.

"Rubies! Attack!"

"No, you idiots!" screamed the Peridot.

But it was no use, the three Rubies ran out into the open. They fused into a much larger Ruby. The giant Ruby clenched its fist and landed a punch. The Gems scattered as the Ruby's mighty fist impacted the ground, creating a cloud of dust. The Ruby scanned around the cloud of dust surrounding her. Then, emerging from the dust cloud was Garnet, who leaped straight towards the Ruby. Her gauntlets met with the Ruby's face, knocking her back.

Then, the rest of the Crystal Gems descended down onto the Ruby. Once again, from the impact of everyone striking the Ruby, another dust cloud enveloped the area. It soon cleared, revealing the Ruby taking blow after blow from the Gems. Amethyst summoned two whips from her gem and wrapped them around both of the Ruby's arms.

As this was happening, the Peridot snuck back onto the craft. Inside, she ran to the control panel. She tapped a few buttons, and spoke.

"This is the Earth Cluster Reconnaissance Team, we are under attack. Enemies are a Pearl, an overcooked Amethyst, one unknown Gem, and two humans, one male, one female! I repeat, we are under atta-"

Suddenly, she heard behind her footsteps on the metal floor. She turned to see the Gems, except for Amethyst, who was nowhere to be seen. Garnet was holding all three of the Rubies' gems.

The Peridot aimed her limb enhancers at the Gems, the fingers creating a beam of energy.

"Stay back! If you come one step closer, I'll blast you all to oblivion!"

The Gems all stopped in their tracks. The Peridot smirked.

"That's right! Don't even try!"

But, little did she notice Amethyst, who shapeshifted into a mouse, was crawling on the control panel. She stopped behind the Peridot and morphed back into her original form, holding her whip. The Peridot turned around and yelped at the sight of Amethyst. Amethyst wrapped the Peridot around with her whip. The Peridot screamed out.

"Release me now!"

Garnet leaped to the Peridot and summoned her gauntlet.

"Release me-"

Garnet punched the Peridot, and she poofed. Her gemstone bounced off the floor, along with her limb enhancer parts, finally resting. Garnet picked it up and examined it. Steven came up behind her.

"Wow, another Peridot, and three Rubies. I wonder if we can get them to join our side."

"Well, we could do that, or we could just bubble them." said Amethyst.

"I'd rather go with bubbling." said Garnet, who bubbled the Rubies and the Peridot one by one.

"What do you suppose they were doing here?" said Pearl.

"Don't know." answered Garnet.

"It's a shame Peridot and Lapis couldn't be here to see this." said Steven.

Pearl turned to Steven.

"Well you know, Peridot has her job as a cable repair and satellite technician, and Lapis said she just wanted today to be her "chill day"."

Connie spoke.

"I'm really worried about Homeworld. Doesn't this recent visit from Homeworld concern you guys?"

"Well, it is quite concerning," said Pearl, "we just wish we knew what they were here for."

Garnet spoke.

"We best be heading back to the temple, it's been quite the day."

"Yeah." said Steven, "I'm getting tired."

"What should we do with these limb enhancers and the ship?" said Connie.

"Let's bury the limb enhancers." said Amethyst, "I mean, we already gave Peridot HER limb enhancers back, why keep these ones? I can be the shovel."

"We should destroy the ship." said Garnet, "That way if any humans find it, they won't endanger themselves with it."

The group descended down the ramp of the ship. Once they were far enough away from it, Garnet summoned her gauntlets, turned back to it, and launched her gauntlets at it. The gauntlets impacted the cockpit, causing the whole ship to explode. Amethyst cheered.

"Woo!"

She then shapeshifted into a shovel and dug a hole. She scooped up the limb enhancers and dropped them into the hole. She then filled the hole back with dirt, and lightly tapped the dirt to settle it in. She then morphed back.

"Well, we should be getting back now." said Garnet.

The group walked off , leaving the burning ship behind.

Meanwhile On The Gem Homeworld

On Homeworld, Yellow Diamond was sitting on her giant throne, typing on a holographic screen, with her Pearl standing next to her throne.

Suddenly, a big door opened, and a Gem walked into the room. The Gem was as tall as Yellow Pearl, wearing a green uniform and a cape. She had olive skin, olive hair, and a green gemstone on her chest.

"My Diamond!" said the Gem.

"I'm a bit busy, Marshal Emerald." said Yellow Diamond, not looking away from the screen.

"But, My Diamond, we've got a distress call from the Earth Cluster Reconnaissance Team!"

Yellow Diamond turned to Marshal Emerald.

"What did they say?"

"It was our Peridot we sent with the three Rubies. She said they were under attack by an overcooked Amethyst, a Pearl, an unknown Gem, and two humans, one male, one female."

Yellow Diamond's expression did not change.

"She said they were being attacked by Gems…?"

"Yes, My Diamond."

She suddenly hit her fist on her throne and stood up.

"What is going on over there?!"

Marshal Emerald was quivering.

"That traitorous Peridot calls me a clod, my Cluster is way past due, and Earth is still intact, and I lose my reconnaissance team! And you said they were attacked by Gems?!"

Marshal Emerald closed her eyes and hesitated.

"Yes…"

Yellow Diamond put her hand to her head.

"Could the Crystal Gems… have survived? After all this time, they'd still be alive?! They and that puny Peridot stopped my Cluster?! Gah!"

She sat back in her throne, keeping her hand on her forehead. She then laid her arm onto her throne and spoke calmly.

"Marshal Emerald, I want you to gather all my other top military personnel. Tell them to gather my army. We're going to Earth and ending this once and for all."

Marshal Emerald saluted.

"Y-Yes, My Diamond!"

Emerald ran out of the room, the two giant doors closing behind her with a loud thud.

Yellow Pearl looked up to her master.

"My Diamond?"

"Yes, Pearl?"

"Will I be staying here?"

"No, my Pearl, you will be coming along with me. I'd like you to see the destruction of that puny Earth with me."

Yellow Pearl smirked.

"Yes, My Diamond."

Yellow Diamond stood up from her throne.

"This ends now…"
