Kakashi was three years old when he first met her. He knew then that she would change his life. She was playing in the dirt trying to make edible mud pies. He of course was her official taste tester. He ate every last one, and told her they were too delicious for her to share with anyone else. She flashed her best smile at him and hugged him. Kakashi knew then what female affection could be like.
Kakashi was five years old when his father told him he was a genius and that he would have to train to be a ninja. Kakashi knew it would be hard work and would take up much of his time. So he went to tell the one person who would miss him at playtime. She was playing make believe and dressing up for when he came to see her. She liked to pretend that they were married, and she greeted him at the entrance with a big hug. He would never even think of denying her that which he enjoyed as much as she did. When he told her that he would have to go off and study to be a ninja she kissed him with all the warmth her red lipstick covered lips could muster. She said good luck on your mission and remember that 'I love you'. Kakashi was in a daze, so this is what love is. He vowed he would not wash off her lipstick mark until he could have her replace it. At training, the other students took to teasing Kakashi, first because of his age, but also because of his lipstick mark. So being as smart as he was he started wearing a mask.
Years went by and Kakashi trained and trained and trained. He became one of the strongest and most lonesome ninjas there were. He started to wear two masks so that the blood from his enemies didn't soak through and smear the lipstick mark that was barely visible. Then he was assigned to a team. Now he saw her again, the one girl who made Kakashi feel anything. She was still beautiful, carefree, and caring. Only now it wasn't all saved for Kakashi. She didn't recognize him because of the mask, but he would have known her anywhere. When their teammate was killed and she prepared to give Kakashi Obito's eye, she told him to remove the mask. He blushed deeply but did as she requested. She said," why do you cover up such a handsome face?" He couldn't think of an answer. The mark had faded and gone years ago. So he just looked at her with love in his eyes. She smiled back at him and shook her head, before planting a big ol lipstick kiss mark on his cheek. "Now you have something to hide under your mask". With that Kakashi passed out and Rin was able to do the transplant.
It was years later and Kakashi and Rin had suffered together through too many tragedies to remember. She knew that they may not survive this mission, but she couldn't stand to be parted from him. She had realized that he was her first and only love. she knew that he would do anything to save he. When she saw him preparing for this last battle she pulled down his mask and kissed him three times. Once on the lips, and once on each cheek. She made sure she left her mark on her man. All Kakakshi could do was smile sadly and blush. When she walked out of her hiding spot she said with her giant grin on her beautiful face, "I know why you wear your mask". Kakashi knew then so this is what true love is.
